Lockerbie Railway Station, Dumfries & Galloway

Lockerbie Railway Station lies on the West Coast Main Line between Carstairs and Carlisle. It was opene din 1847 by the Caledonian Railway and in 1863 the line to Dumfries via Lochmaben was opened, closing to passengers in 1952 and goods in 1966. In 1974 the main line was electrified. The station has two passing loops and two platforms as the Dumfries platform and shed were removed in 1972. A locomotive shed and turntable were once located here.
Scotrail manage the station but only Avanti West Coast and Transpennine Express trains call here.
