Monet and Napier made some sterling. back when. Check for hallmarks at 8:09 - I associate that clasp with GOLD. The last one I found was 18k and didn't feel like much. (and I love that kitty! Best flea market find all year!)

Make sure you check those pennies and quarters. There are pennies from the 1940s that are worth a lot of money and there are quarters from the 1974-1976 that have a lot of value.

Not saying they are special notes but I definitely would have searched for start notes, birth years and radar notes before I put that money anywhere, I hope I can find a unit that good, but I don't plan on cashing in any coins till I know they aren't special, I found 2 silver dimes last month in change I got from the grocery store

If you have a bank account get the coins done free at bank. Also try selling the instrument on a local selling wall and let buyer worry about moving. Could also donate to a church and get receipt for taxes. Just a few ideas.

My bank requires that you bring in coins that are rolled already. They don't have a coin counter. It's a fairly large well known bank called Wells Fargo. As a matter of fact I even asked if any of the other branches had a coin counter to which they said no, they'd all been taken out a few years ago.

I would have paid for those keys...the ivory was perfect. My piano was made in 1898, and my 7 children have banged and cracked my ivory keys. Your piano keyboard was perfect. I don’t know cutoff date to sell ivory but I fell out of my chair when I saw yours. The money was great, and there are nice things in there. I’m glad your family got it. Enjoy your mini holiday. ❤️

All quarters before 1965 are 90% silver and are worth $2.78 each as of today. July 2. Dimes are worth $1.11 That one bag of quarters that you held up looked like a bag of pre 1965. If I were you I’d hang onto all that change until you learn how to evaluate it. ☀️

I really enjoy your videos but when you said you were disappointed because the change did not reach 300 dollars, I thought how long my wife and I had to save our change to have 20 or 30 dollars and it meant a lot to us..still does. Sure it's a lot of work on your part, but this locker and the big one have to be winners. These lockers have to have more than met whatever amount you could have expected and there will be many more...so Count your blessings .. half full is better than half empty and partly sunny is better than partly cloudy. "Sterling" indicates .925 fine Silver. Take the whole bunch of US coins to the Coinstar; any silver coin ("War Nickels" & Dimes thru Halfs [before 1965] will be rejected [check the return chute in the middle below the "chute" at the top] for rejected coins).

Goodwill does not take pianos or organs. We have a college in our city and a music conservatory. We would try to donate pianos to them, some of which were very expensive (one was a Grand piano). They did not want any of them. They also ended up at the dump. Yaaay! I am glad this unit is done. All that dirt and all the rat gifts! But for the money, well worth it.

Here in the UK a few of years back,a couple bought an old piano at a junk shop.After a while they decided to have it tuned and the guy who came to do it said no wonder it sounded bad as all the strings were weighed down with what turned out to be gold sovereigns…..worth thousands of pounds.

Although I would have loved to see the piano go somewhere good too, you tried. If you get a vintage piano in the future and are going to junk it anyway, please take the time to remove the keys. Vintage piano keys, even just veneers, sell for good money on ebay. Check it out. People use them in piano restoration, jewelry making, scrimshaw, etc.

If the old bill has a stamp, writing, tears, ink, pinholes, tape, rips, or stains, spend it unless if the bill is 1950 and earlier. I noticed some of the old bills had damage on them. If those damaged bills aren't from 1950 and earlier, spend them.

It really is a good feeling to see the unit empty after a lot of hard work, sweat and tears. I roll all my own change. I have a system and it hardly takes any time. I roll while watching You Tube videos. My bank doesn't mind that I take in a lot of change, when it's rolled. Nice view of the lake.

I also just had to do the same thing with a piano from a locker. It killed me to call Junk Kings, I paid them 300 to haul off the piano and a fridge. I was able to negotiate with the guys once they pulled up because I had not told them about the piano when I called so I’m guessing the guys didn’t even tell their boss about the add on.
