These Abus dimple locks can be genuinely tough to pick! Still, that’s half the fun :-)

Love this core. I've got the smaller EC75IB/50. Never mind dimple locks being rather uncommon, it's the only one I own so far with what feels like mushroom drivers. The feedback is so pleasant and unique I still haven't managed to get bored of picking it.

Dimple can certainly be addictive picks! :-)

I just acquired and picked my first dimple lock! It is an Abus 75/30 with an EC core. The lock is tiny and the core is scaled accordingly. Navigating that keyway was a narrow fit lol. It took me a few minutes to manage to get it open but I eventually got it. The feel of dimple picks is taking a little getting used to.

Very well done :) . Its funny how North Americans and Europeans pick locks differently(pins on top vs pins on bottom). To us, you guys pick them upside down, and Im sure you think the same of us.

I pick most locks pins up, but dimple locks are far easier to pick pins down :-)

I`ve been struggeling with a Abus ec75/60 since summer (for real!) I usely like dimple locks, but this one with the counter-clockwise rotation somehow eludes me. (As BosniaBill says: Sometimes the stars aligne when a lock is made)

Having to pick it in the same direction as tensioning makes it harder :-)

What a beautiful lock Ash,Great job picking this, and gutting it to. Thank you for sharing it. Wishing ì can grasp picking this kind of lock. CHEERS Mate P.S. Could you please explain more on witch way you are picking the pins, are they all on the bottom, twisting your pick downwards, are you picking any pins on the top,when it comes to this lock ? Thank you
@LockNoob5 жыл бұрын
The way I have the padlock orientated means all the pins are on the bottom and I am twisting the flag down to set the pins. Very few dimple locks have pins on the top and bottom, which is good, but it’s always worth taking a look into the keyway/ looking at the key to see what might be in store :-)

Hey, So I live in Europe and I'm looking for slim lock picks. As you seem of great advice, I just wanted to ask you wich brand should I consider Everybody recommand Peterson Euro line, but they don't seem that slim to me. Maybe SouthOrd or Multipick are more adequate Thank's in advance

What a lovely looking lock... and the security ain't that bad either. Fantastic picking as usual with what looks like a lot of heavy tension. Curiosity is tempting me to ask how many time did you manage to pick it open before this video?

I can’t remember, but I usually film my second or third open. That can be after an hour of practice though... depends on the lock! :-)

OK, I have real issues with dimples, arthritis and fibromyalgia mean limited or no feedback. At least trying to grip normal lock picks isn't as bad now I have some 3D printed sides on them. Still damn poor at picking locks :( That was really nicely done.

I do wonder with these locks, They obviously spend a lot trying to make it 'pick' resistant. But how about smacking with a big hammer. Most garage rats don't know how to pick.
@namrednop5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely my thoughts as well. Me, being a regular guy (should the need occur) I'm not going to take the time to "PICK" a lock like this (or any other one for that matter, unless it was a Master Lock, lol), I'm going to attack it with my angle grinder or my sawzall. So, how well would this padlock hold up to one of these attacks? I can already answer that question for you, lol.
@LockNoob5 жыл бұрын
This is where the public are woefully unaware of what Lock suits what purpose: this isn’t a high security lock, but it is good for a lower security application. Criminals don’t pick locks and there are locks out there that offer much higher levels of physical security... they just cost a whole lot more. :-)

piece of crap. Its a brilliant lock at locking but it seizes and nothing will shift it. I coild have used WD40 but that was in the f'ing locked shed. Dire
