This OnGuard slider D-lock was very kindly set to me by Daz Evers. I have to say, it took a little while to get used to picking this as I’m not that great with sliders, but it was a fun challenge 😃👍🔐

I think these OnGuard locks are great value for the money. In some tests it outperformed many rivals in cutting resistance. I got mine (8005) about ten years ago, still working perfectly. Tried to open it, when I got myself into picking, but I had no success. After seeing this pick video, I can still say that it is quite safe for a bike lock.

Just watched a few videos on these locks, on guard. As it is an internal four track lazer cut key. These are similar to the newer Toyota keys. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mr Lee couldn’t produce a Lishi for this lock quite easily. It would be smaller than his normal tools but would enable picking and decoding in one. Come on Mr Lee.

Before I knew more about this style of lock mechanism it was easy for me to presume it was a disc detainer lock based on the keyway.

Nice one. I am still working on a slider loto lock. No luck yet. I think I should pick up some of those Z wrenches. B.T.W. I noticed someone has a new pick out. I already ordered it. Looks really good Lock Noob.

Great picking! Slider locks are probably my favorite ones to pick. But I don’t really think the provide much security unless the false gates are hard to tell from true. Or if there’s is just a bunch of sliders. Like the 3KS. And it just crowds the keyway

I got a cheap slider lock but I can't even get tension on AND poke inside. Also, an "inside" look would be cool on how these exactly work. I get the impression that really cheap locks are so crappy they get harder to pick. Or I completely suck at it, which is just as fair an option i guess. :D

Very nicely done there on the Pitbull. Sliders seem to be a bit hit and miss for speed on picking I find. Like they are a bit inconsistent, one minute you get a fast open then next time it can take four or five minutes. Great video as always : )

It isn't too bad, but some can be rocked open like BB did
@timp27514 жыл бұрын
There's still a bit of a knack to even rocking them open and you need the right tools, I don't think it's a likely attack on the street, bike thieves don't really do picking anyway. The brute version is one of the best value bike locks around for me. It's heavy but it's the only lock in the £30-35 range that will shrug off any physical attack short of an angle grinder.

@LockNoob4 жыл бұрын
@@aszi77 bitting and manufacturing tolerances. Both differ depending on the individual lock. This could not be rocked open, but I have rocked open other slider locks, so the technique is valid 👍
