Absolutely phenomenal, super happy to see the reverse picking on there, I finally watched that video the other day, but I was more excited to see that impressioning tool handle thing you had. I'm still early in my Foley-Belsaw certification lessons, but I've really liked making keys for locks without em. My fingers hurt and the vice grips don't vice enough lol

Would it help if you put a bolted a screw through the keyring hole in the blank and used that to wiggle the key instead?

@@penfold7800 @@penfold7800 hmmm sure I suppose, some use a thick tension wrench in the key for tension while bumping. In your example I feel the screw would have to fit very snug, almost like a handle, in order to wiggle both directions. To just crank on it and go up and down it sounds like a fairly decent idea

I think that it's noteworthy that when using the impressioning technique, The impressioning many times can simply be measured and a new key cut from scratch. Or if using soft metal, Then take the soft metal key and use a key duplicator to make a good solid hard metal key. As usually the whole point a privilege elevation attack is not to be detected, and having a soft metal key break off inside of a stubborn lock would be a bad deal. That said we should be using these powers for good and not evil.

He demonstrated all techniques, not all levels of lock security. There are some really good locks that require high skill to pick. For example, Medico locks have pins that need to be lifted AND TWISTED to the right orientation. I have no idea how to pick those, but I guess it is possible.

Ha!! Finally someone has acknowledged the reverse picking technique. I discovered that myself a while back. While you may still need to re-pick a couple of pins in the traditional manner, it is still a useful technique on some of my older Yale and TriCircle locks with stubborn worn pins.

It's just a matter of bouncing the tension. I've only had luck with locks that have strong pin springs. Of course it's also quite possible that all I'm actually doing is comb picking but pushing each pin up separately. Then the pins that have longer pins to prevent that are the only ones left to pick, so all I'm doing possibly is just bouncing the tension to drop the one or two key pins that are longer to prevent comb picking. Lol!

Very clever, but you have to know a lot about the models of locks to do this. That is why destructive opening is used 99.9% of the time. An angle grinder although noisy will cut through most of the locks in a minute. The only time this is used is when a home owner has lost his keys and calls a lock smith to open the door without damage.. I admire the dedication, the skill and the knowledge.

@@nirvanafan007wonder5 I can't recall the first 2 locks I bought using someone's linear guide of easy to hard locks (namely due to the inclusion of security pins), but the third and 'super beginner graduate lock' was the Master 140D I think, or rather just the Master 140. It's got one or two spools in there, I keep one on my keychain

I got a batch of older locks off ebay for pretty cheap. Some were easy to pick, most are still beyond my abilities. But I got a good mix.
