This show was absolutely amazing. From the sets, the actors, the soundtrack, the visuals, the writing, the costumes, literally everything. There were so many tiny little details that paid tribute to the books but also expanded on the story. This show deserves at least two more seasons, I’m personally holding out for three more because the last three books all have enough to take up an entire 8-episode season. (Yes, I know Netflix cancelled it, but I’m extremely optimistic it can get picked up again.) If you haven’t watched it, please please do yourself a favor and do, it’s so worth it.

I just binged the whole season and OMG I haven't read the books but boy it was absolutely incredible the character depth and development and how different aspects of the mystery comes in play later on with the absolutely iconic dynamic of the trio. I can assure you will not be disappointed. Totally worth every second. This is my FAVORITE book series of all time. I even went as Lockwood for Halloween when I was a teenager. As a filmmaker myself, I have always wanted to adapt this and I have had lots of ideas. @@ElisaH_DarklyiShine well since each book is about a different case and the series covers book 1 & 2 so at the end of the Netflix series, you could say that things are wrapped up nicely. There are definitely more shocking twists and turns coming concerning the central plot and storyline, but overall the tone of the series is more on the side of spooky mysteries with an abundance of that quintessential British humour. It‘s very enjoyable to watch but even if it gets cancelled by Netflix (pray that its not) you won‘t feel like you miss out on anything because season 1 already did a very good job of covering every important aspects of the story.

Constantly pumping new shows is sadly their entire problem, their entire business model these days is to throw everything at a wall and see what sticks. Big shows like Wednesday are basically guaranteed a follow-up but smaller ones like this are sadly a roll of the dice

I could imagine even the author going, "okay, that's better than what I did." But the next two books really crank up the intensity on several cases. If they again combine the two next books into a single season I could see it easily costing twice as much as this first season.

I know that pleading to Netflix doesn't do anything and this show is most likely going to get cancelled, but it was my favourite show in a while. It's a fascinating world, the slow burn romance is keeping you on your toes, the characters seem real and alive, it's thrilling and mysterious. Those who read the books know how great the seasons 2 and 3 could be, there is so much potential in this series. And the casting is just flawless, even though George looks very different from the books, I think Ali is perfect in this role. It will be such a shame not to see all the amazing adventures from the rest of the books.

I read the books starting from the 4th (when i grabbed a book off the library shelf and didnt know it was a series), then the second, third, then fifth. i never bothered with the first book when i had the chance cuz i liked skull's sarcasm throughout the book and wouldnt read one without him so i honestly hope he's in the season his voice isnt terrible either i was worried with how theyd do it

But I understand why you would feel like something is missing ^^ I don't mind his voice but I actually really don't like the way it looks, I would've preferred smth a bit more realistic with a real skull and like a faint glow of the ghost

@@delphinevanderheyden3838 alright! ill see if my library has it yea the voice doesnt make me cry for the sake of the show but i like how you described the plasm in the jar/how its described in the books, with the skull being visible and if the ghost forms them its face and its expressions. Just watched the entire season twice through. Very good series! The young actors are great, specially the main duo. The story and world building are pretty good too. I hope more people see it so it gets renewed.

Love this program. Netflix really hit it big with Lockwood & Co and Wednesday. I would expect any rumor of cancellation would have been started by another streaming service, b/c they, too, know how great this show is.

Everyone complaining about cancellation - guys, there's just 5 books in the series, and this season seems to adapt a good part of two books. So they're already aiming for two or three seasons max, which personally hits the sweet spot. It means we'll be getting a well paced and complete story
