Don't was an enormous hit and easily the sexiest collab of 2018 ... or pretty much any other year. The bartender was producer Woogie, the 3rd partner (aka 3rd wheel lol) on this song; Hwasa and Loco wrote their lyrics and Woogie composed the music. Earlier this year Hwasa and Woogie collabed on a beautiful song called In the Fall that was criminally overlooked. My fav part of the Above Live vid is at the end. Hwasa has been toying with Loco relentlessly, circling around him, grabbing his jacket to pull him closer, and patting him on the head and at the end he can't take it anymore and starts to reach for her but stops himself. Perfect illustration of a moment MMM later explores on the b-side song High Tension. One of the things I love about Mamamoo is that they're not afraid to express sexual desire and the dangerous, irresistible feelings of attraction we see in the Don't video. Most kpop songs about love are G or PG rated but MMM gets into R rated territory without being crude about it. A few examples are Piano Man, Decalcomanie, Words Don't Come Easy and High Tension, and even in breakup songs like Egotistic and Aya the MVs are extremely sensual and sexy because passion is physical, not just emotional, whether you're falling into love or removing your feelings like you're painfully extracting a bad tooth.

This song literally did so well in South Korea in 2018! deserved - it was top in the charts for a loooong time and they also won Hot trend at the Melon Music Awards (big award show in SK). I hope they have another collab in the future. If you ever want to see how this song came about - its actually from a variety show where they met for the first time and its really cute haha and funny. oh man, these two took over south korea with this song. nobody expected it, least of all them, but it raced to number one on the charts and stayed there quite a while they also got instantly shipped as a couple, though nothing ever came of it loco has had a huge crush on for years, at least since the first collab he did with all of mamamoo, "this song", though they never actually interacted in creating that song. each side just sent their parts back and forth until the song was done. but since then, he'd said multiple times that hwasa was his ideal woman the bartender in this video is the song's producer, woogie, who is the main reason the song even happened in the first place. he knew loco's feelings on hwasa and gave her loco's number when she was looking to do something for a tv show, 'hyena on the keyboard'. that entire show, which only had a handful of episodes, is worth watching if you ever have the time, esp the episode hwasa and loco were on. each episode followed several artists through their music creation process as they created a song for the show, and i personally found all of them... if not entertaining, at least interesting and educational. many were entertaining, too. the episodes hwasa and loco were on also followed a member of got7 through his creative process and a pair of oldschool korean rock legends who had been friends for 20+ years but never actually did a song together until this show woogie pretty much masterminded things, gave the duo use of both his recording studio and his apartment, even going so far as to cook dinner for the two while they worked. this earned him the moniker of 'world's best wingman' by everyone who suddenly started jumping onboard the ship when they saw how loco and hwasa interacted they performed the song live at least 4 times. first on 'hyena on the keyboard', next on the performance you just watched, both of those with woogie as the bartender. after that, they both showed up at each other's concerts to perform, loco surprised people by walking onstage during hwasa's solo portion of a mamamoo concert, then hwasa appeared at loco's solo concert. i'm not sure if it was only one day each or they did it each day both concerts went on (since i know mamamoo does their concerts for 3 days in a row at each location) and, as you saw here, hwasa teases the everliving hell out of poor loco, who could never focus fully on her, so she'd grab him and pull him around or turn his head to ensure he was looking just at her. she is such a cruel tease when she wants to be and that just sent the shippers into overdrive

I saw the process of how this song was made. I was so into Loco fanboying on Hwasa. I am so glad you're discovering the other genres and music in Kpop. Not just the most popular. I subscribed to your channel when you reacted to Winner, Akmu, and Treasure. Though I am a YG stan but mostly an innercircle, I do appreciate a lot of Korean artists. It was 2ne1 who introduced me to Kpop. Still, I honestly think no other kpop girl group can top them. But if I have to choose a Kpop girl group who can at least get close to 2ne1's stage presence, it has to be MAMAMOO. And their vocals are insane especially Solar. I do think you are one of the few reactors who genuinely react to good music and give honest reactions.
