I’m a big fan of locslide floats. One of our club’s waters is very deep and fishing a locslide float is a great way to fish it.

@@grandadgoesfishing9833 I e been out today and tried the method with the locslide float and a 15g in line bomb,never fished this way before,,although the fishing was tough going today,I managed to catch 3 carp all between 3 and 4lb,I loved the method,casting was difficult to get used to with a bomb,but it became easier as the session went on. Just one question I’d like to ask,iAd a few times when the float was rising,I struck at these with nothing to show,with this method of fishing,are these lift bites or is there something I’m doing wrong Thanks Brian

@@briansmith8313 Hi Brian glad to hear you enjoyed it. You shouldn't get lift bites using this method. Was it windy conditions? If so maybe a heavier bomb would solve it. I dont know what size float you were using but if it was large and there was a good wind blowing could it have been towing and bouncing the 15g bomb along the bottom? If the float was too light then I would expect the tow to pull it under and a heavier float would be required. As you are getting the float rising in the water it would suggest maybe the bomb wasn't heavy enough to anchor the float still. Another thought is that a fish was lifting the bomb off the bottom which would cause the float to rise, but as the bomb wasn't heavy enough to set the hook in the fish's mouth it immediatley dropped it. I have seen folk using bulky pike floats with this method in rough conditions and a 1oz bomb as it should be a self hooking method.

@@grandadgoesfishing9833 Thank you mate for replying,there wasn’t any strong winds yesterday,just a light breeze,it was rising just like a normal waggler lift bite. Perhaps I will fish with a heavier bomb perhaps 20g and see how that goes next time,in the end I didn’t react when the float rose,I just re set it again on the reel,the times when I did react the bait hadn’t been touched. I really enjoyed it mate,I’ve fished the slider before,but I love this method. By the way,I was fishing the premier locslide No1,the same as in your video. I hope to see many more videos of yours my friend,stay safe and tight lines

I have used slider floats for 20 years absolutely deadly method It's surprising how many anglers don't know what the slider is won many a match last year on the slider float i use the original slider floats ysing bulk shot etc stop knots etc etc,last year i bought a locslide and a polaris float I'm getting older and my eyes are not what they use to be,so i set these floats upnever had a problem they worked a treat especially the polaris it was awesome in a 25ft deep clay pit the locslide was for 8ft-12ft deep swims i heard from people there rubbish they tangle all the time they don't surface all the time utter rubbish there so easy to use and excellent to fish with,just watch this video and listen to the tutorial and you won't go wrong such a well made video and surprisingly that's how i set mine up with a quick change bead and bomb great video well done,oh by the way do those kelley clips actually work great tutorial thank you for posting,Derek

Hi, you refer to Lure Factors Cali Clips. I think they are in fact called Kelly Clips. Am I correct and do they work in the same way as Locslide floats?

Hi nice vid and nicely explained , without some daft music playing ha ha,, what rod did you use please.
@grandadgoesfishing98333 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure it was my 10' 6" feeder rod but i would be just as happy fishing it with my pellet waggler rod. The fish hook themselves so your not looking for a tip to go around.
