AMER'S ANGLE

Жыл бұрын

Slider float fishing is one of the arts of float fishing. It's a method that gets anglers frustrated when perfecting the set-up, plumbing up and feeding at range. In this latest episode, I show you how simple a method it is when all the fore-mentioned are put into practice.
A very deep reservoir was the scene for this exciting float fishing episode which threw up at least one surprise!
Hope you enjoy the video.

little confused about the clip. so i cast out to just past where i want to fish. clip up, reels in some turns, lift bail arm again to let float settle. 71 year old senior moment lol. fabulous video

Thank you Brian, once you have found the correct distance/depth you want to fish at, you need to fish to that spot accurately. To do this you need to find that spot every time. To do this you need to cast to the line clip and draw the float back to the desired spot. I put at least 4-5 turns on the reel and then sink the rod tip mans reel back: then flick the rod upwards to sink any floating line that may remain on the surface. That will put the float right to where you plumbed up as this is what you did to find the correct distance and depth. Hope this helps

Very helpful informative video, nicely presented. I fish a deep water where the Roach tend to sit in 14' - 18' and simpler waggler just can't do it. It's weedy too so feeder isn't ideal. Having seen this, it could change my approach for sure. Thanks again. Cheers.

Can I ask what rod you’re using, I know it was 13ft……..Do I need a rod with wider eyes for the knots to travel through…..Great vid…Than you
@AmerJawad-jj4ib
@AmerJawad-jj4ib 9 ай бұрын
Thank you Julian, the rod I am using in the video is a 13’2ft waggler/float rod. For those shorter distances, up to 30m it’s more than capable. Anything further I’ll use a 14ft version. No need to look for anything different in the way of eyes. Make the sliding knots with nothing heavier than 0.17 diameter line and nothing finer than 0.14. Too fine it beds into the main line, anything too thick will cause restrictions in the line passing through the eyes. Make sure you leave at least an inch of tag from the knot. This helps the knot pass through the smaller rings. Hope this helps

One of my favourite methods. I would recommend veg oil over washing up liquid to prevent transfer onto your hookbait. Plus a quick change float adapter folds/collapses the float faster on strikes. Also harder skinned balls of groundbait are less prone to breaking up on impact an get to the bottom without breaking up, if they break up on impact the fish come up off the bottom over the course of the session. Picked up a couple of good tips here cheers.

Did you use a line clip??.......how can you pay the line out if you are clipped up....? Clipped up twice???. Trying to find a new method for my local Bough beach.
@AmerJawad-jj4ib
@AmerJawad-jj4ib Жыл бұрын
Hi Matthew, yes I did clip up. It’s a case of hitting the clip and reeling back a few turns with the rod tip submerged. Then whip the rod tip up at a slight angle to bring the float to the same point each time. Then release the bail arm and pay out the line accordingly. I use measuring sticks too in case I lose my distance. I hooked a carp this day and it ran me to the clip. I was able to get the distance back after netting the carp because I measured up. Hope this helps
@silvestro2in1

@@AmerJawad-jj4ib I use a marker to mark the line near the clip or even use a sliding knot in there. Then its easy to have the distance back after an "uncliped fish". Just overcast, reel back the line to the marked portion and clip it back. Of course, if you measure it up with the bank sticks or other measuring method its easier to get the distance back even if you get a line break (which in the first given case would be nearly impossible if the line breaks between the reel and the float) Thank you for the informative video.

Disagree with rod length. I always fish a ten foot, never had a problem, not fishing to Australia
@AmerJawad-jj4ib
@AmerJawad-jj4ib Жыл бұрын
A 10 foot rod?! Too short for the fishing we do. We fish big, deep waters and casting distances of up to 50m! The strike and picking up of line means only long rods for us. Longer rods make it all much simpler and less effort which means less tangles. Good luck with your 10ft rods 😊
