How do you manage to kill monsters while in archon form? I thought you do no damage in archon but you build it up to unleash when you come out of archon? Yet I see the kill count increasing on your archon icon?

In this video the other wiz is running the non-archon TK variant (Trash Killer) so they give me kill stacks towards my archon. This setup is Rift Guardian Killer (RGK) for quickly killing the boss but I also help kill elites between archon cycles.
