I worked in the co-op in woolton in 1958-59 as an order boy delivering groceries all over woolton ,I believe lodes pond was at one time a penny paddle for children and the little building was a gents toilet. Mr Clifford was the manager of the co-open d the Squires club was opposite the co-op. Woolton was a beautiful place then

I never knew the correct name for that carpark in Woolton... everyone I know just calls it the duckpond. Nice one for showing me that plaque too, I never even knew it was there. Great vid as always.

Ha ha yeh I've always known it to be duckpond Thanks for watching glad you like the video that plaque is a really nice touch on that hall glad its still getting used to Cheers again bud

Working my way through your back catalogue George and this one really intrigued me. It's great that it hasn't changed, but it wound be even better if it was still a pond that locals could walk round instead of just another car park.

Thanks for another trip down memory lane. Bit older than you. The building at the entrance used to be public toilets late 60s. There was 1 Rigby at Out Lane in my class. Catherine. Hi if you are watching. You'll be 56. There was a youth club in the church hall in my day. We had no idea about John and Paul. Never mentioned in my youth. Born 1965 Vale Road.

Hi George as you mentioned l have also been passed this place meny times, never realised it was a pond, shame to see it as a car park, would be lovely to see it back how it was originally. I have had a bit of a history lesson today thanks George will check out Woolton next time I am around the area. Thanks for sharing 👍

The former pond is a tip. I've seen rats running out of the shrubbery to raid the bin bags left for collection at the entrance, while a few yards away an uattended delivery van had its doors open and carcases of meat hanging exposed to the elements.

This grave is near to the Eleanor Rigby grave in St . Peter's Churchyard , Woolton , Liverpool . Was it the inspiration for " Father McKenzie " in the Beatles "Eleanor Rigby " song written by Paul McCartney ?

@@g2emedia1977 Narrator does not say the name clearly. I think the area is Woolton. They seem to say Walton sometimes which is far to the north. |either that or some weird 3rd non-existent place name.
