I'm going to be honest here: Back in 2017 I loved lofi. I used to listen to it all the time. But something happened during 2020 I don't KNOW WHAT happened but I can't stand listening to it. Now I listen to Celtic Music. YES I just said Celtic Music. It's very good and I love it. I'd recommend Blue Turtle, Adrian Von Ziegler and especially Celtic Night. The music is one thing but the artwork is WHAT drew me in. The music from these artists are suburb. IF your tired of listening to the same beats PLEASE listen to the artists I just listed. Especially Adrian and Blue Turtle....Blue Turtle even has a comic to go with his music on Instagram. It's a great genre, again it's something different and I've been listening to them since 2019 more and more. You'll feel different emotions other than nostalgia, your brain will begin to imagine knights, medieval fantasy, elves etc. You'll feel more creative especially if you write. Trust me at least try it the next time you want to Lofi and Chill. The Artwork is also on another level!!!!!!!

speaking of unique, i think potsu is the most unique one, unlike most lofi artist who used samples w/ their repetitive beats. you should check one of his track called "letting go"... it doesn't sound the same like most lofi beats you've heard, tbh I'm really impressed after listening to the track... he combines funk, jazz and new age or should I call it "lofi".. yea.. its not repetitive like other lofi music. the song is rlly groovy tbh, the bass, the jazz piano and saxophone.... its rlly hard to not shake your head while listening to it.... note: he made and used his own samples. idk if I'm saying it right but all the instrument melody that you've heard in the track... he composed them by himself.... he plays the piano, guitar, vibraphone and guitar???? ugh idek what to say... he's really talented!!!! here's one of his multi-instrument performance! kzbin.info/www/bejne/ravHgaGCZcuHhs0 edit: sorry for my unskilled english.

Can we understand the fact that the term lo-fi music compared to world music is just another derogatory term for a wave of playlists that contain obscure music that can't be placed into a specific category of music? I'm telling yall that lo-fi is already dead because since it already gained popularity and you are not realizing that a few months ago I saw a an album made by a major label consisting of lazily put songs from their cataloged in order to capitalize off the trend of lowfye trash made by racist people who try to make a quick buck. This term lo-fi has reached the height of hypocrisy and absurdity. May lofye die out and neo-new jack swing continue to live. Now I sound like David Byrne for typing this, but I'm telling you guys, lofye has reached it's irony to die.
