I'm relatively new to Kenshi, and I'll say, I've never encountered a game or a community quite like Kenshi

Rimworld and Project Zomboid and Mount & Blade are LEAGUES beyond anything this unoptimized mess could ever hope to be. With that being said, we will see what Kenshi 2 is all about. Optimization is by far the most important change that needs to happen.

Kenshi isnt a community favorite because its well optimized or pretty its a favourite because there is no game that does what it does. Does it have elements from other games? Sure but nothing plays like Kenshi.

Jesus. I remember being in my barracks in 2011 playing this game. I still come back to it. I don't need Kenshi 2 to be the world's greatest game. I just need it to follow the design philosophy of this game. The way certain units hide when you're fully zoomed out. The interactions between characters. There's so much attention to detail in the different aspects of the game that intermingle to create an amazing affect.

Most of the stuff here is very good. I like these fanarts as well and sadly my skill to make similar is low but hopefully some time if I have enough of it I can add fanarts or mods too. I personally just making tweaks for myself and have a faction overhaul for the Hub but I am not shared any because tons of stuff can be added. Despite these I like the creativity of modders.

while amazed at the quality of mods, I am still befuddled about how they are so good at editing the core files... I only heard how editing the game settings via the mod manager was about what we could do, and gave up on the idea of making an inn in the Hub and even allowing 3 people to sit in the bench, instead of clip on top of one seat (if you set the max number of occupants to 3).

kenshi is one of those games i dont rly care much for mods, i still appreciate the freedom it offers for users to alter the game, but in my opinion 99.9percent of whats on steamworkshop is just not worth it, or its borderline trash, almost nothing really improves the vanilla experience, and its were the game shines. the real coomunity spotlight for me is the artwork some ppl create around this game, there is some stunning stuff

I half agree. While Kenshi offers near boundless freedom, there is indeed a limit to what you can do before you get bored of it (speaking from experience). This is where mods come into play, as Genesis, Universal Wasteland Expansion (UWE), Kaizo, Reactive World and so on, add and even tweak that freedom to a degree. Just as an example, say you kill Tengu in vanilla, the cities, more or less, fall to ruin, but with some mods it comes with very VERY dire consequences if you are not ready for it

I understand your point of view that you don't want to spoil anything from Kenshi 2 but this next to absolute radio silence makes me a bit sad. I remember frequenting the lofigames site and reading about the people who worked at the company and watching the progress of the game. Can we at least get some company posts on the site or here sometimes? I barely know the who is working on the game, is Kole still on music? How many are working on the game and what do they do, did they work on the first game, if so what are their feelings on working on the second. Do you have new people on the team what to they feel about working at Lo-fi Games and on Kenshi 2. What inspires them and such. it doesn't have to be visuals on the game just have some form of communication with us. Have some devs do voiced reacts to the spotlights from time to time, I feel like that would be cool at least. Of course it's your game and studio, and your privacy, do what you want to do. These are just my presumptuous wishes
