I am trying to follow along but picking one of the lower guidelines always destroys the influence of the upper guideline. Do you know why this is happening? I am using an ellipse instead of an arc for the upper guide, but I need to due to specifications. EDIT: This happens even when I use a 3 point arc for all guidelines. I'm also sure to make things tangent.

Without seeing your work its very hard to say. But try using the selection manager and/or creating more sketches, each with less entities.
