Just love your rendition of O’Carolan’s , Loftus Jones!!l. It’s my favorite of all the pieces that he wrote!! I am playing it on the piano and learning it on the violin!

Kevin Burke was born and bred in London and moved to Ireland at a young age - hence the very mixed up accent. The Burkes he came from made a big impact on music in London. Damn nice people.

He came to Ireland in his twenties. I think he joined the Bothy Band, one of the big Irish folk groups. He would be called London Irish like the Pogues.

I think that's a bouzouki. Andy Irvine had a lot to do with establishing the Bouzouki in Irish music.

I would bet on Octave Mandolin. It is used primarily by Irish music groups.
