I am commenting long after the filming of this video, but I am so impressed, Both with the young men and the elder sharing some good times. You showed how you do the flint and steel rather than showing them the “right way”... great job, Andy. They had a fire ready in the morning and so many great ideas. I wonder what they are up to now.

Thanks for a great visit to two new (to us) bushcraft/camp crafters! They have made a very atmospheric cabin in a beautiful bit of British woodland. The roof will look 'champion' with more mossing. And the moss will have some composted leaves to grow on as well. As for video: I loved the ancient/new technology contrast of the natural fire and the solar-powered, fan driven pellet/twig stove. Each has its time and place in our outdoor arsenal!
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
Thank you James :) I think they are mossing the whole roof now and hopefully starting KZbin too :)

What an awesome camp site for Ben & Lewis Bushcraft and your overnight stay, Andy. Their workmanship is first class and set up for comfort. I love their cabin's fire place and the use of clay for wattle and daub which should provide them with a warm and cosy place to live in once they have more or less completed their tasks regardless of the season of the year. I'm suitably impressed all round. Thanks for sharing. Take care...

nice chaps them Ben & Lewis - and a lovely cabin. Good work on teh fire place. Was just wondering why they were sleeping under hammocks when they have an entire cabin to sleep in - hahaha Excellent work on the claytechnic and use. Well done!! I'd consider addi9ng some higher chimney to the fireplace. If you get lots of sparks coming out you could easily set the roof or surroundings on fire, especially in dry summertimes. Can never be too carefull with that. Oh and at the bridge, I was thinking, if you leave those walkingbeams rounded at the top yuou can easily slip in with weather and break a leg there. I'd flatten them a bit or do something else to make it rougher and give more grip... just some thoughts... loved to watch you guys at work! Thanks for sharing!

Why can’t people live like this for real if they want..instead people must be slaves to the establishment. Simple little wooden huts ,better then the streets. I expect they had to get permission to do this unless,it’s a private wood. Lovely little gem in though . Getting back to basics..raw natural lifestyle,good for the soul. Doing no harm to anyone..too much red tape theses days. Great work boys.
@anonymous25134566 жыл бұрын
you would never get permission for that in the UK. there are too many people and not enough space for everyone to do it. if you want to build something like this you just have to do it and hope nobody reports you (somebody will, there is always a dog walker who thinks that they know best)
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more, we are just too over populated in the UK now and every inch of the island is owned by someone. This project was started without permission but eventually the owner of the land was discovered and permission sought retroactively which is a nice surprise, happy for the lads.
@garyhertswildcamper89586 жыл бұрын
You can live like that for real. You just gotta move to somewhere like Siberia or Alaska first. only 10% of the U K is woodland. compared to a European average of 40%. Thats why i voted leave. In the southeast we dont really have a countryside, we have a farmside. Down off my soap box.
@markandrewward57186 жыл бұрын
You can if you buy your own land . Check out KZbinr Kris Harbour , he sold his flat in London and bought a plot of land in wales far cheaper and he’s built his own home out of wood and cob , dug a lake , has a natural spring so always has fresh clean water , he’s built a work shed , started building a massive workshop , planted 2500 trees , installed solar power and a micro hydro electric system , he’s living without paying bills ... I know you mean people should be allowed to live totally wild if they want and they should , once it was the only way people lived , so sad that we have all become slaves to the system .
