Beautiful site! Look forward to the finished product video. It probably would be cool to see these from above. Maybe one if the kids can learn to operate a drone. 🙂

Not much to that one. It would be nice to see the whole build start to finish.

I notice the full concrete floor with no crawl space. I need to discuss this when the time comes what the advantage is for building a log cabin with no crawl space for plumbing and electrical repairs.

Once again.... QUALITY work here..... QUESTION: I live in NY.... Most the houses here have basements, dug RIGHT into the ground.... not visible from the street.... Why do most the houses in Montana sit on slabs, or on a "basement" that's clearly visible from the outside?
@danno1ize4 жыл бұрын
It's a choice.I do foundation work in new york.Some people like slabs and don't want to pay the extra 20,000 for a full basement. Local codes usually want at least 4 feet of frost protection too. A full basement allows for more living space or a place for washer ,dryer and furnace.A slab can allow for that too bit you lose room in the house.Its the homeowners choice.

I am building a log timber frame house and garage from poplar trees from & on my land in Western North Carolina. I am considering using SIPs on a log timber frame like your video titled "Log Timber Frame Garage and House in 3 days. Can you share the plans?
@AmishMeadowsOfficial10 ай бұрын
You would have to contact Meadowlark Log Homes. Our policy normally is the plans we have are only for Meadowlark customers.

I need to ask.... why are the gable structures not sitting on the posts ?? Seems to this guy that the roof load is not directly over a supporting structure. That said, beautiful work !

I love all your houses...but a FLAT ceiling?? All those beautiful logs need to be seen. Oh well, everyone sees beauty differently. Can’t wait for the next video.

Why have a flat ceiling with a log or timber frame? Makes no sense to me.

Do you have any concerns crossing such spans or will it be relying upon the 2x4 frame ins for strength. Thanks, rich
@AmishMeadowsOfficial3 жыл бұрын
The timber frame structure is fully engineered and capable of holding the spans with no problems at all.
@steeezyb3 жыл бұрын
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial thats quite amazing if true. May I ask the dimensions of the round beams? I am considering a similar design though with straw bale around perimeter and was wondering for strength.
@AmishMeadowsOfficial3 жыл бұрын
In this structure they were about 12” diameter. In future builds this size we made a decision to use larger materials in order to create a wider flat surface for your walls. In each case the engineering will ensure that everything is structurally more than adequate.

@AmishMeadowsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
It’s a totally custom design so I don’t even know the dimensions of it. I know it’s close to 100 feet long. I don’t have a model name or anything on the website yet.

Would really like to Know what the cost of a home like this would be and if you'd be intrested Building in California
@AmishMeadowsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
We can send the log package to California and possibly arrange for a local crew to put it together. California is the one state that we will not travel to put them together because of so many regulations. I suppose he’s going to have 300 400,000 in the completed project.

That's a shame they are going to have flat ceilings in that house with all that beautiful timber. The family room and kitchen should be open NOT flat ceiling for goodness sake. A waste of money by the homeowner to to a timber frame home and hide it all.
@AmishMeadowsOfficial4 жыл бұрын
That was the homeowners choice. We try and build whatever somebody wants to customize.
@lavrentichudakoff25194 жыл бұрын
I agree. Why go through the expense. They could have just as easily used prefab trusses in that case. The only people who will see the timbers will be the HVAC repairman and the insulation installer.
