I'm 35. I'm so confused about who on Earth would be a Logan Paul "fan". I understand during the 2010s there were tons of gullible children raised on KZbin trash like "Team 10" content. But when those kids grow up, how on earth do they not "grow out" of being Paul fans? Old Hollywood and Television weren't perfect, but people who became famous usually had some type of real talent (music, acting, comedy). Let's be real, this was supposed to be a big distraction from both Logan and Dillon's scams. For example, Dillon is going to be remembered as the ultimate keyboard warrior. I think the difference in mr beast hate and Logan hate is that mr. Beast is in way better of a position to help waaaaay more people but he uses his platform to make money off of people’s desperation for money. Mr Beast, I’m order to help more people, has to ensure that his vids become as popular as possible. And he literally invented large KZbin philanthropy. I don’t see how there’s a single thing wrong with what MrBeast is doing. He’s given away over $100,000,000 to people who willingly sign up. He could easily make his channel huge and give away very little to no money. But every 2/3 vids he spends millions helping people. 99% of creators don’t do that. He’s a great dude who also happens to want to build a business which helps more people get work and exposure. I don’t see any valid criticism unless it’s learned that he fakes the money he gives away or if he’s abusive behind the scenes. Logan on the other hand actively tries to hoard as much wealth as possible.

Keep in mind I don’t really have a problem with jimmy I’m sure he’s a perfectly nice person. what I’m highlighting here is what happens when you position yourself publicly as “the good guy” versus Logan’s position of just caring about himself. I don’t expect perfection from mr beast but you’re likely to be held at a way higher standard if you hope to maintain a positive public image. That being said here are some valid criticisms on a few of his projects : the eye surgery he paid for those people is relatively cheap. It would take maybe the cost of 2 of his videos to save the sight of thousands of people but the way he went about things acts more as advertising for how good of a person he is instead of helping the most people possible. I don’t really think it’s fair to say people willingly sign up either because if you’re desperate for money people sign up for basically anything. People have sold themselves into slavery and sold their organs for a pay check. When it comes to monetary compensation it’s hard to say what is truly voluntary and what is done because people don’t have better options and really need money. Additionally the things he’s asked people to do for that money is usually a “how long can you last” structure so it’s not really a game show where skill, luck or technique is involved, it’s based on putting people in uncomfortable positions and seeing how long they could last in that uncomfortable position. With both the team seas and the team trees campaigns he ran they serve as green washing strategies that actually end up hindering environmental efforts. Simply put: he over simplified the degree of the problems and what real solutions to combat pollution and climate change look like. As a result the main polluters can continue to get away with polluting at a rate that normal people could never clean up. In a number of his philanthropic videos he takes sponsorships from companies that directly contribute to the issues he’s talking about in the videos. Companies do this because it’s much easier and cheaper to give mr beast 20k and get a bunch of praise for being one of “the good companies” than it is to actually stop and fix the problems they are directly responsible for causing. Now these I think are all valid critiques of the way he runs his operations and none of them mean you’re a Mr beast hater since they can all be addressed while he continues to make the same content. I think it’s fair to say that just because you’re doing what you think is a good thing doesn’t mean that there will be good outcomes and it doesn’t mean there wasn’t a better way to do it. If you’re truly a fan of mr beast wouldn’t you want someone to point out where problems are so that next time he does the thing it’s the best possible thing he could do?

I always hope that those critiqueing Jimmy see what he’s trying to do as being far of a better outcome than what he otherwise could be doing and what the vast majority of people are doing, which is not investing giant portions of their money and time toward philanthropic efforts or helping others. So as long as those offering critiques don’t frame in it a way of “well I guess Jimmy os not a good person afterall” which lots of people can come to that conclusion if the creators criticizing him do it without fair praise and proportion. That’s all. I’ve just rarely seen people who criticize Jimmy also frontload it with just how much he has given to people. And far far far more than most ever would,

It’s pretty rare you’d get someone willing to take the time to give someone a fair balanced critique especially since they are already probably pissed off. That being said I’d like to posit a question. How do you measure what is acceptable? You mentioned multiple times that jimmy isn’t as bad as a number of other creators which is true but i don’t think that’s a great way to measure if certain things he’s done are acceptable or not. I’ve never killed or physically harmed anyone whereas others have but it still wouldn’t be acceptable for me to talk shit about people. Someone who’s never talked shit about people could give to charity but only ones that help specific races or groups and isolating others. Is that acceptable? If you use someone else’s bad behaviour to measure if the things you’ve done are acceptable then all you have to do is not be as bad as someone like Logan Paul and you don’t really have to try to do that. Ideally you’d use the best possible thing you could do as a measure. Aim for the stars and if you miss you’ll land in the clouds type mentality. If you acknowledge that people are always going to jump to extremes doesn’t mean everything they say is invalid. You’d have to pick through and highlight things you can improve upon and discard the overly emotional venom people spew online. I think it’s fair to say that’s probably the best way to take it in stride

Geez I didn't know any of this.. why would I though, I don't follow him.. defo a case of a bad guy acting good.
