This video dives into the science of Prime, history of Logan Paul and questions both why this is successful and if it’s healthy? It was written and created by Charles Peralo. Edited by the amazing Donny Kleuger.

I think in Gatorade or Powerade's case, the sugar is supposedly there to help with better absorption of electrolyte and minerals, but it's junk food if you're not putting in the physical activity.
@DannerBanksАй бұрын
I think there is a good food theory video on this. I'll summarize: electrolytes are good for exercise. However, not all electrolytes are created equal. The electrolyte you lose the most during exercise is sodium (aka salt). Of all the sports drinks, gatorade has the most sodium by a long sbot, and is therefore the best to drink before sports. A lot of these new sports drinks have potassium (an electrolyte) instead of salt. Ace K (an abbreviation of acesulfame potassium) is an artificial sweetener. So drinks like body armor and prime taste good and have low calories, but they are not great for sports. Thanks for coming to my TED talk

If you want to drink healthy, make your own drink. If you want to drink delicious, go buy it in the supermarked. And to highlight the numbers, its the opposite of what he states in the video. he says 50g of sugar daily is appropriate, and the numbers say that 400g of sucrose is the daily. Another thing of it being sweeter than sugar? i dont know enough about the two but that is not inherently a bad thing. Idk if he just doesnt understand how to make content, or the more dangerous option that he does, and he is doing this on purpose for publicity, who knows xD

I thought the scam was fighting people in sports that they dont practice, when they are at retirement age, and then acting like you are tough. We ought to give the man a shovel and let him box with Ali. Maybe we could tie one arm behind mayweathers back, bungee cord his legs together and blindfold him and then let them fight next. Then he can act tough for that one too. I mean, my 88 year old grandpa just recently tripped on his dog and broke his femur. Maybe we should set up a match.

I work for a rotational molding company. Before that, it was RV factories. Rate shops. Welding. One job I had to have my boots, pants, under shirt, welding shirt, welding sleeves, kevlar gloves, welding gloves, welding cap, welding helmet, glasses, my mask and then anything I should shove in the helmet because when its 95 degrees and 85-90% humidity in the great lakes regions, you are literally broiling in your own sweat. It was so hot that I got used to buy jars of pickles just to drink the juice. I would get packets of mustard at gas stations to eat them while I was working. Pedalyte became my friend. When you go to work and sweat out over 5lbs of water, sometimes more, there is no real way to keep the electrolytes balanced in your body correctly. I would get home, my right leg would cramp, I would go to straighten it out and the other side would cramp. As I am trying to stretch, my left leg would cramp. Calves, then to the thighs, blah blah blah. Its torture. If you are always sweating, something with electrolytes is absolutely vital. Prime is just too expensive and endorsed by assholes. In my experience though, potassium is what most people are missing. Mustard works really good, but its like a bandaid. Most people just need more potassium. For dudes, calcium helps a lot too.

Something important to note is that low sugar in a sports drink isn’t necessarily an advantage. Drinking something like Gatorade at the middle of the workout will fuel you due to electrolytes but sugar turns into glucose which fuels the body. During weight loss I definetly agree that sugar should be avoided for the most part but in sports drinks it makes sense to have more sugar.

you said FDA says to have no more than 5mg of sucralose per day, but the screenshot even says "5mg per kilogram of body weight" and they give an example of someone lighter than most people in the US at 136 lbs... which would still be 300mg per day... then you compare to added sugars on a 2000 calorie diet (probably not someone at 136 lbs), which should be 50,000 mg per day, then say that is 10,000 times more. No, 10,000 times more would be equal to 3 million mg of sugar.

The worst part about Prime in my opinion is also that it really isn’t a sports drink. Gatorade is still a good option for high intensity sports due to its electrolytes (particularly sodium). Sodium is what helps your body store more water and regulate sweat. Prime only has 5mg of sodium, which is one of the contributing factors of why it tastes so much better than other options. You did not mention Bio Steel in this video but I would argue it’s just as good as body armour.
