Watching that monster torture that poor fish like that was horrible. I've been a fishkeeper for over 20 years. They're wonderful creatures. While they're not the most intelligent, they do recognize their friends and form lasting relationships with each other. When people say it's "just a fish" it bothers the hell out of me because they're incredible animals and they're just so misunderstood and underappreciated.

Fish are awesome, I had two “feeder” fish, the 19¢ ones. They lived for 6 years, they’d spit the rocks at the glass at us when we would walk by, one would make squeaking noises. They 100% recognize their friends and who feeds them. I loved having fish, they were a nice addition to my home and family. When I’m done with college I hope to get more, they just take some work, and I need to have better mental health in order to be able to care for them properly.

You hit the nail on the head by saying it’s his responsibility when he got the pig to make sure it went to a safe home. That fish video was saddening and horrific to watch. @@Seawitch555 start with changing milk, oat imo is the best vegan milk out there, goes good with coffee/tea, cereals, dessert. Slowly try to incorporate greens into your daily diet. When having urge of eating meat, try the mock meat products. Lastly be humble and compassionate to yourself and others, and be patient, gradually make the shift.

His ability to empathize with others, even different species - is slim to none. That certainly puts him in a category of people that is more capable psychologically to pursue harming another person. That happened to my ex's mom. She was told the pig wouldn't get pigger than a shit zu. The people lied. But they had that pig, bacon bacon, for 15yrs until he passed of natural causes. He lived inside and was the sweetest boy. He'd ring a bell on the back patio door to go outside and they built a little ramp for him to go down and built a big pig-house to chill in when it was nice outside. She also had two cats, a dog, 3aquatic turtles, four tortoise (one was blind). And her house was IMMACULATE. you walked in and had no idea she had a small farm.

I started listening to this podcast called tooth and claw I recommend it to everyone. They talk about animal attack stories and one of the guys on that podcast is a wildlife biologist so he gives lots of interesting facts and explains why attacks happen. When I was going through a rough period of my life, I used to go the Gentle Barn occasionally. It was a place to get away from all the turmoil and just be around these precious animals who were rescued from terrible situations. I'd find a group of animals that didn't have too many people around (whether sheep, goats, pigs, chickens...) and grab a seat next to them. And for that hour or so, they kept me company and my problems always seemed a bit smaller. If anyone's in the LA area, do yourself (and the rescue organization) a favor and plan a visit. I think it's like 20 bucks and if you have financial hardship, they'll work with you. Also, just a heads up... it is a very vegan-minded environment (understandably, since many of their residents nearly ended up on plates after horrific lives) so please try to be considerate of that.

I have a pot belly pig aka a "mini-pig" named Matilda. She's super spoiled and currently sleeping in my room. Lol. They are the absolute best pets. Easy to house train, clean, they don't bark, they don't chew, love to cuddle. They bond super hard to their owners. Matilda follows me everywhere and runs to me when I call her all excited and happy. And they are super smart. It's almost like living with a toddler. They even smile when they're happy. I could never imagine re-homing her to some random farm, especially if I had Logan Paul money. It would break her heart.

When they are treated badly by people they love, they can't understand and stress exactly like any child. Logan didn’t abandon it, he moved away and had it relocated to another owner. The new owner after around a year of owning it abandoned it, because he moved away. Logan should have given it to a decent organization that had no plans of moving, but from what it sounds like, Logan genuinely thought the place he gave the pig to was a fine location - This video skipped out on including Logan’s response to this. He sent an email to the organization who saved it asking how he can help support the pig, and explained everything.

Even rehoming an animal I’ve raised for a year would be absolutely heart wrenching for me. Because rehoming your animal isn’t a crime. Logan Paul Is a vapid cretin of a man. But my god do people overstate his wrongdoings sometimes. He rehomed his large pig after he was told it was a micro. Unfortunate that was the circumstances but he was not prepared to look after a full sized pig and decided to let it go. Should he have been more careful who he gave it to? Maybe. But he looks like he gave it to someone who already had a pig (the one that died). I moved recently and the coyotes where I used to live looked like very skinny frail dogs that weren’t intimidating. At my new place I’ve seen a few coyotes that look like buff German Shepherds. The Gentle Barn is honestly the best group of sanctuaries that is on social media. So many just look like petting zoos for people to come take pictures with rescues, but Gentle Barn doesn’t fuck with that. They make you donate a good chunk to come visit and make it clear that you don’t disturb the animals; this is *their* home and where they were brought to be safe, you’re just coming to say hi. Glad Pearl is there. ❤

But a lot of animals aren’t and can focus a little bit too much on getting the income from “attractions”. A lot of GB’s animals were abused and need to feel secure and calm, and having random people touching them all the time can stress them out.

Great moves Ethan - gotta say though as an aquarist fish are not just fish! They are intelligent and have feelings too. They feel pain, they can suffer, get depressed and get attached to tank mates. Our fish recognize us and know when meal times are. I’m greeted every morning by our fish and they swim up to the glass excited for breakfast. For those who don't know the death pig that pearl was found was Piggy Smalls, the other pet pig that Logan adopted after Pearl; both were abandoned during his move to Puerto Rico, they were given to another person who clearly didn't care about them, both ended up escaping, which resulted in the death of Piggy Smalls, which of course has really harsh for Pearl as him was the other domestic pig she grew and knew before going to the sanctuary

As a bird owner hearing about Mavericks death is so sad. One of the first things you learn as a owner is that a bird even being around a dog is dangerous because the saliva is poisonous to them, so there was no reason for him to be near that dog. And then the dog mauled him, clearly he wasn’t paying proper attention.

he was so clearly not watching his dog, its so sad. those types of birds live long lives like up to 20 years, maverick died so young. I have a dog and two small birds and I allow my birds to play outside on top of their cage for a little bit each day, but I ALWAYS supervise them. I never leave the room when they are out. my dog has always minded his own business and doesn't really bother them, but I still never let any of them out of my sight. anything can happen in a split second.

I hate Logan but this was already found to be not his fault, when he moved from the US to Puerto Rico he re housed a lot of his animals, his horses to his dads ranch, birds rehoused and so on. His pigs were rehoused through the original breeder and they were kept together and were intended to be adopted by pig lovers in California but not Logan, this was likely done by them and not Logan, they weren’t abandoned when he left the country they were just rehoused. Completely tragic and disgusting but this time we can’t put the blame on Logan for this We saw that he treated his pigs well despite their sizs, the second pig was bought a year later because the vet said his first pig might be lonely and he intentionally got a big pig

Cid Dwyer actually did a video on this and influencer pets. He bought the first pig who became lethargic at a point and figured she was lonely, so he bought another pig. He eventually rehomed them both to someone who (iirc) had a farm, and the pigs got out and unfortunately one of them was killed. The other was found alive and she was recently rehomed because the original person he rehomed to couldn't take care of them properly and she's doing okay now. I think they were also looking to rehome her but I can't remember, but everyone should watch Cid's video on it.

Pearl is such a beautiful animal! If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit an animal sanctuary I would highly recommend it, I got to apply sunscreen lotion on a pig and it was a wonderful experience and a memory i’ll always cherish. Such smart, sweet, empathetic creatures

Logan said himself on one of his podcast episodes that he never cried over the Kong/coyote incident (I believe it was the episode with Anna Akana). I know everyone grieves differently but that always creeped me out.

So happy to see Ethan shout out an animal sanctuary since those people really do dedicate their lives to the animals and oftentimes are in desperate need of funds to keep running. I'm sure the Gentle Barn is going to get a lot of support after all this attention but I hope people are aware that there are tons of sanctuaries out there that are always in need of donors!

You are not wrong at all dude. Also, I don't know if anyone remembers, but after the whole s*icide forest incident, people were speculating on whether or not he was a sociopath. In response to this, he came out and said that he did exhibit sociopathic tendencies and behaviors, but had not been fully diagnosed. I think it's safe to say that all these years after, it's pretty clear he needs to go be reevaluated.
