Exactly lol it just didnt happen.. The best you will find is someone who literally opened them and put them straight in a good binder or in hard cases.. Other then that all of the 1st edition boxes are owned by serious collectors and either sold to people like Logan to open or they just sit on them to increase value.

@@Virginiafox21 I've heard that gloves will leave prints, and if you use a cotton glove then you will leave tiny scratches and fibers along the card. It seems really stupid but some people care to that degree. It's the same for coins too, touch only the edges and only when necessary.

22:21 I cringed a little inside watching him drop it, but you know, it happens. The cards are kind of small, very understandable that they could get dropped. At least it’s a very short distance. It’s probably ok, but definitely not ideal. I’m sure he understands how careful he needs to handle these cards, and he’s not going to make that mistake again. *drags the card across the table* I legit dropped my jaw when I saw that. I could not believe they would do something like that. Not to mention they’re handling these cards bare handed. The oils on their fingertips are going to ruin the value of those cards.

Literally no one handles cards with gloves, in fact amateur card handlers use gloves because you can damage the card easier with gloves on. Pressure control is easier with bare hands and you can snag the glove on it.

My dad used to collect magic the gathering cards in the 70s-80s so he knew what kind of value cards could be so when pokemon came to America he bought a lot of packs and opened them. Eventually got every card in the set and kept it all in a big binder that I still have to this day.
