Now it makes sense! I never wondered about the water. I just figured it dripped on her. But the positioning of where they are in relation to Francis never felt correct. This explains it! Thanks!

I also wondered how it was that Jessica suddenly was soaking wet, while Logan remained dry. I thought that perhaps, since in the scene it appears as if she runs under the water that is dripping down, that they used a second take on the filming, and she was already soaking wet from the first take. However, this helps clarify it, although I would have loved to have seen her fall into the water. I agree with Monroville, that they really got her wet a lot in this movie. However, I think we can all agree that she looks spectacular soaking wet!

Fun fact: This scene (and Logan's and Jessica's interior reentry into the City) apparently was shot in the same facility where the mutant lair in Battle for the Planet of the Apes,(1973) was filmed.

I just saw this movie for the first time. Thank god for youtube. So many poorly edited scenes in the movie just made me puzzled. Like this one. Because the scene prior, she was dry. Then the next, soaking wet. I was like, why is she wet. 🤔

I was trying to figure out how she was dry, then wet when I watched on TCM. I assume they may had cut some scenes to show the movie within the time frame.

You're assuming the AI is sane. I don't think it is. Also, the AI intends to kill Logan as soon as the mission is complete (assuming Logan survives that long), because now Logan knows too much. Informing Francis or other Sandmen would raise questions about what is going on.

I actually never noticed how wet she was but did see the dripping water in the passage. I think they got away with not including the fall. Not everyone is looking at Jenny's, barely covered body. As a scifi fan I liked the story when I first saw it years ago. I wonder if it will be remade like Planet of the Apes. Remakes are usually poor but Apes was good. Who could play Jenny's part nowadays and would her silken dress be as wet and see through.

As much as I generally hate remakes, and as much as I love the original main cast, this is one of those few films that has potential to be really good if remade provided they don't go overboard with the CGI aside from establishing shots and the clean up crews removing the dead runners.
