Just an FYI for anyone that might not know, some debit cards will place a hold on your account for more than what your gas is when you pay at the pump. They release the funds after a couple days.

You don’t need to pay at the pump at all stations, I paid inside with the teller recently and printed a second receipt from the pump uploaded it to the app and got paid 2 days later.

I had this issue for GetUpside. I changed my approach. I activate a deal, I go to the gas station and fill up, I leave the gas station and go home, I try to check in when I’m not close to the gas station, the app will ask “are you at this location now?”, I click “no”. Then it ask, “did you already make the purchase?” And I click yes. Then it will take you through the progression of uploading your receipt. You have to make sure you review the changes in the app and click yes for all the fields the app asks for “date and time, gas station address on the receipt, the last 4 digits of the card used, a few more but can’t remember all the fields. This process takes a few more days and you will always get an email saying it is taking longer than usual but in the end it always goes through. I haven’t had any weird reasoning like before and it has always worked. Im over $26 now in savings.

Well funny thing is the 76 gas stations pay out the best in my area and they always require a receipt it takes a few extra days to process. also if it's not deemed to clear picture it'll just reject it.

This app is a roll of the dice. Yes, a roll of the dice. It does not always work as described. Pump prices will be higher or lower than the app states. Some gas stations will fail to provide your purchase information or some require a receipt picture upload. Regardless, it is not a reliable app or program. The fine print spells it out. It gets Upside off the hook but gets you deflated. This guy is making this video to hopfully entice some to try it and use his referral code so he gets a premium and so do you for the first transaction. The 3 or 4 days is a HOPE. Beware. There is no free anything. Think about it. There is no free lunch.

The ad says: I saved $344 in last 12 months. Savings 0.25 cents per gallon, in a year you have to use 1376 gallons. Split that in 52 weeks, that's some 27 gallons per week. A little more credible than the ad when it came out, it said you saved $200 to $300 a month 😆 Do the math people. Is very easy!

The UPSIDE Ad says that they got $200 back for buying gas. Wow what a joke. Let's look at this. If they got 10 cent back per gallon of gas, which is typical, they would have to buy 2000 gallons of gas. 2000 x $2.39 per gallon is $4780.00. If the typical MPG is 25, they they would have to drive 50,000 miles before they would use the 2000 gallons. The government says we average 1250 miles per month, then to travel that 50,000 mile would take 40 months! ALSO, if you use any other source of discount for gas, such as grocery store promotions, then the UPSIDE APP WON"T ALLOW THE DISCOUNT! So, when you get that $2.35 in your account, UPSIDE is using your money because most people don't ask for that low amount. Sounds like a good plan to me... NOT!

First of all I would like to know how upside is making money on this. Nobody does this for nothing. Exactly you have to go to one of their gas stations which may be $.30 more a gallon than the rest of the gas stations in the area. It sounds too good to be true it probably is there Hass to be a negative as to what the result is other than somebody just paying you cash to get gas. Anybody feel they got scammed? Anybody out there that had a bad experience or a fraudulent charge sometime afterwards?
