Solve this ring-and-rope puzzle

I made an updated version of my 9-year-old video to give a better view of the solution to this brain-teaser puzzle. This is a video of the solution to the "Right Brain Teaser" made by Channel Craft, which stumped me for two days of intermittent attempts to solve it.

This helps a little but I have the version with three wooden rings to get passed. The middle section is driving me nuts!

I have a very similar puzzle, but the object of the puzzle is to remove the brass ring. On my puzzle, instead of the rope being attached at the bottom of the base, it is attached to a wood bar that moves freely. The wooden bar is too big to allow the brass ring to pass over it. It's extremely challenging and it's one puzzle that I have not been able to figure out for two years.

So essentially by passing the loop through the wooden hole you temporarily created a flexible extension of that solid, wooden loop, and you passed the ring through it and reversed the procedure, this time with the ring on the other side.

Would you be willing to give me the measurements of this puzzle? I want to replicate this puzzle for my family. Rope length, metal ring diameter, wooden ring diameter, center post height, and the base dimensions. When measuring the wooden ring on the center post, could you give the inner diameter and outer diameter? Thanks

Bunch007 HD The whole thing is about 6 inches tall and about 4" square at the base. I can't tell you how long the rope is but about a foot would work. Both rings are about 1.5" to 2". The brass ring just needs to be bigger.

When you cut to the other side the knot is totally different. Why are there two lines over the top of the ring after the cut?

I realize you've had this video up for a while but, could you please do it again with the ring on the opposite side? I got mine over and am unable to get it back. sigh. It SHOULD be straight forward but, not for me. Maybe a video where you go one way and then immediately put it back? Sort of a FULL circle solution video for everyone, no matter what state their puzzle is in.

It was invented in the Japanese Edo period between 1600 - 1860. The solution is incredibly hard, but how did the inventor even come up with this puzzle, that is even harder to explain.

LOL, just to be sure, I looked up the version of your puzzle at Lumberjack Toys. The object of your puzzle is to REMOVE the brass ring, not move it from one side of the rope to the other. That just would not be very challenging. Show us how to remove the brass ring.

Why don't you give credit were it's due? The puzzle is Japanese from the Edo period between 1600 - 1860, and I'm sure you would not even in a million years would have solved it if it weren't for a Japanese video that appeared in 2008 showing how even a Japanese astrophysics professor couldn't solve the puzzle. So stop trying to make believe you solved it yourself, if an astrophysics professor and other high IQ people were not able to solve it for years, I doubt you could have come up with the solution. Be legit.
