In Shannon County, deep in the Ozarks of south central Missouri, a man and his son use a time honored but unusual way to harvest timber. Instead of power equipment like tractors, Bob and Dwayne Tabor use mules to drag the logs to a truck. It takes about a year to train them, but once they learn how to do it, they can pull huge logs around obstacles without guidance. Bob Tabor says he's always logged this way because it's more efficient and kinder to the forest floor. He taught his son this old fashioned way of logging. Produced in the mid 1980's by Ed Fillmer, video journalist.
