You should try to find a wrecked Mercedes SUV to use as a front end/cab, then flat bed the rear. Assume a Unimog body will be hard to come by. Ironically there was a military version with a front loader sitting on a residential street near me for at least a year, but is gone now.

To be fair for willy, i have lived on countryside my whole life except 8 years in the city etc and barely have used axe to split firewood... I know how to do it, but i have almost always used log splitter since kinetic versions you get 9 peaces in 6 seconds and you really cant compete with axe against that, least on how less effort it takes. Practice and skill yes, but not much effort in comparison. Also if you really want to improve your firewood processing start using IBC containers or ones made from pallets and just move them from drying in the sunny spot to storage with out need to man handle them or load and unload the wood time after time again. Just fell, cut, split, load to cages and after couple moves those are ready to burn. Wont need more than peace of sheet metal etc on top or 45 cut plastic container that comes with IBC containers to cover it from the rain.

Your suggestion at the end Will gave me an idea of sorts. Make it into a mini truck with a bed that can effectively dump stuff wherever. It'd be a kinda small bed, but it'd be useful for what you guys do at the end of the video with the split wood. Additionally, seeing as you guys plan to remove the minivan body off of the unimog frame there.... I'd actually suggest something: Keep the minivan body and eventually give it a good small vehicle frame of some kind to call home, alongside a decently powerful engine. Maybe make it into a monster minivan again in a sense but on a different frame, probably custom most likely, with it's own powerful torquey engine to power it. Besides, I think it'd be cool. Plus it'd make a good hauler for stuff. Assuming you rip out the back two seats to have maximum space whilst still being able to have a driver and a passenger in it.

Here in Cambodia they use 90cc step through motorcycles with huge rear sprockets, rebar spokes and rims, and snow chains on the rear wheel to haul logs out of the jungle.
