Hey Thanks Buddy I tried to make this one like a realistic day of me at the Sawmill. It can be kind of monotonous, but that is the reality of Sawmilling. Thanks for Commenting Buddy - I really appreciate it.

I wish MD owners that make YT videos would start giving more information on these mills than just saw and no dialogue or narration. There’s very little videos to help new owners of these mills

Oh Buddy I can do that. And I can do that WELL I started from nothing with my first mill. Just a pile of rusted parts, that orange book, and no teacher. It was terrifying. It cost me nearly 2 years of no income - as I spent all my time fuking up with the mill. Now - it has ran smooth and cut like butter for a decade. There is a true learning curve here. I can completely solve that. My first Mobile Dimension Sawmill Simple Operation Instructional Video - Will be up NEXT WEEK. Wednesday - Oct 11th. Thank You Man - you can also email me, I would even facetime and answer any questions. I have rebuilt, replaced, every single part, of the mobile dimension mill multiple times. I have experienced most every issue that can happen. Thank you for this - Wonderful Idea Sterling C Chew Second Growth Homes LLC 1-907-612-0364 secondgrowthhomes@gmail.com www.secondgrowthak.com www.tenakeelogging.com

That must be one of the last years the mill was made before the hydrostatic carrege drive. I know of one hydrostatic made in 89 are mill is 92 Are first one was 73 I believe 86 ish was the very first gen1 hydrostatics. You could use that left hand sawdust shute for the main blade. We find it very helpful. . We do a lot of custom full-size stuff, with the 128 wide eger on. 6x6s 6x8s 6x12s and occasionally the limit of the mill 8x12s . 26 foot 8" is the most ive squeezed in for an order, that wanted a finished length of 26'-4" There was less then an inch clearance at each end.

Hey Thanks for commenting Buddy. I did not realize this mill was close to the cutoff for the hydrostatic drive. I would really like to operate a mill with the hydrostatic. The old belt drive really does work allright tho - keeps her moving along. That is great. When we were milling mainly for my Dads construction company we did a lot of 6x12 - and 4x12 for foundation beams on the mobile dimension. We have started harvest second growth spruce here in southeast alaska, and is really fun to mill. It cuts so easy, the mill seems to never have any issues when we are cutting second growth. It is super fun. I rebuilt our mobile dimension from a pile of rusted out crap - the engine and carriage were good - everything else was gone from being setup on the beach near the ocean. My Dad purchased the parts, new endstands, cross beams, and 1/2+ all new for the rest of it. We have cut with it for 10+ years now at Corner Bay. They are great machines. I have the Left Hand Dust Chute!!! For some reason ours continually clogs up with the Long spruce shavings. When the teeth are sharp, they will take shavings 6-10" long at times, i finally took it off as i was tired of clearing it. i should try the chute again though, it has been a few years. What part of the country are you located? Thank you so much for commenting Sterling

@secondgrowthhomes north Oregon coast range. . I actually worked in Troutdale at mobile manufacturering for 1.5 years. Right near the end.. The company has sold to new people, they have relocated North of Salem, OR. . there working on retro fit kits, for converting rope starts to electric starts. a kit to convert to hydro drive. And replacement track, as your not the only person to have issues with salty air and or water. . We commonly have the same issues with western red cedar with the left hand shute as well. It can also jam the shanks full of chips with WRC. In general, Cedar is just way hard on the mill. Very rare to have issues with dug fir.

How many logs you can cut not sharpening the blade?
@secondgrowthhomes7 ай бұрын
It depends on the size of Log Buddy I am cutting Second Growth Spruce Logs - 24" Diameter - I cut 3-4 Logs in 3-5 Hours The mill says sharpen teeth every 4hours - which is suprisingly accurate if your logs are dirty - it will go dull immediately - I imagine different timber will cut drastically different than our Sitka Spruce and Yellow Cedar
