Ya man, the old head of product development for Universal Audio, Dave Tremblay, went to work for Apple in the Logic Pro division last year I'm pretty sure. Could have been the year before. That makes a lot of these updates make a lot more sense! I think we're already seeing the benefit of having him there! Loving the new realtime bounce in place! I was so happy to see that too. I also like the "auto" option when exporting too! No more forgetting to select the proper mode anymore! I'm so so so happy with these updates. 10 stars to Logic Pro 11!

Yeah the bounce in place is great for me. I’m really excited to see where they go in the next incremental update as there are still many basic things they can fix that would make it awesome. But the new UAD guy being there may be a great move!

@WhoIsAlexElliott5 ай бұрын
Yes this is correct. To speak on apples behalf for a second. The coding of logic for M chips is completely different to the coding for Intel. So logic would have to consistently maintain and release two versions of logic to run on an Intel chip that they don’t even sell anymore. So it makes sense why they haven’t done that on a business level.

Hey Alex, I always appreciate your content! Your perspective on A.I. makes sense, but it's hard to deny that it's becoming increasingly integral in modern society. After all, it's not a trend we can reverse, so for me... and this is just my opinion, I think it's better to find ways to integrate it positively into our lives and work. Anyway.. It does feel a bit more like a 10.9 update. Even though the features are great tools for production. I think an update to the actual software is needed. As expressed on your previous video - things like the browser, the M-series chips optimisation, maybe a fresh looking UI and so on…

Apple is just trying to be innovative and ride the AI trend by including it in a DAW. Its probably to serve the lonely independent musician who doesn’t want to pay for a session player or have one available as a friend rather than someone who has zero musical competency and can’t play instruments
@WhoIsAlexElliott5 ай бұрын
Fair enough. I do hope that person whoever they are can connect with some other musicians. Music is so much better together ❤️
@planetmullins5 ай бұрын
Fake session players will certainly help insure that musicians/producers become further and further isolated and more and more of the fun of hanging out making music with your friends will likely decrease. After all, who needs other players when you have Dad/Mom Apple right there? You'll never have to leave your basement again! You'll be able to spend 16 hours trying to make the bass part sound real and you'll be alone sitting there at the end. I don't think that is a positive trend, what do you think?

Nice! I think people will ALWAYS need to satisfy there inate urge to create, play together, enjoy and communicate through music, it is in our souls, we are born with it. BUT.... I think for the commercial world ie: TV and film adverts, radio jingles, voice over, shorts etc... IMHO AI is unfortunately going to be the future. I hope I am wrong. Big corporations dont really care who or what made the music, as long as it does the job (they are not creative). We as huans will always need to create music ouselves and will never lose that. Folks will just find it incredibly hard to make a living from it unless you play live a lot or garner a very good paying following via socials etc...I hope this isnt the end case, but AI is getting super good super quick.

I and I know many others who have been so let down by musicians that it becomes frustrating at times. If you are really surrounded by professionals it’s not so much an issue, or if can afford to pay someone, again that’s great. But if I can just use an “AI” bass player or drummer and it sounds good, it’s going to win for that part I need. Now if I get it to create everything, that makes no sense to me, I’m just looking for help on some parts, but I’m still driving the human side to it.

I might use the basses .. but I'm not all that interested in having it write stuff for me. It's pure novelty .. could be used to inspire some things, or to just get some grooves rolling.
