In this video, I demonstrate how to create and store screensets in Logic Pro, which are essentially custom window configurations. These can be super helpful in improving your workflows and staying organized. Enjoy! Support the sponsor of this video! Maybe it's worth mentioning that you can import screensets from another project using the project-import dialog and then go to the "import project settings" button below the track list.

Yes. The circumstances that we're not working out of a template, you can have a project set aside (or last project) to refer to and import project settings into your current project (file/project settings/import). You can import much more than screen sets if you'd like. Instead of importing all of the files into your template and possibly making a mess, you can just work the project you're on and import your project settings. Nice bandaid that works. I would prefer Logic just makes it so you have the choice to decide to save each of your settings globally for all projects.

Including the screensets in your template(s) is a perfect work-around solution. Thanks!

Josh just when I thought you had taught me everything thing I’d ever need to know in LPX. You blast me with yet another awesome find full of excellent information. Thanks for never giving up on the never ending Logic journey. You Rock brother.

Worth mentioning that it's best to Lock the Screenset to keep it how you want it. Say you want to change the appearance of a Screenset, you need to Unlock it, from the Window Menu, make the changes and then Lock it.

Thanks. I always get freaked out when I accidentally press 2 and don’t understand what’s going on 😂

5 thumbs up, because very informative. Yes, a pity that it can only be saved in a project, but a template that you‘re using again and again could be an option. A have to make a basic template anyway. What I never used so far is the step sequencer. A big THANK YOU! 👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻

I was wondering what that number in the top row meant, really useful to know thanks! Edit: Does this also work for MainStage?

Even better if you don't use screensets, stay in fullscreen and just just open those within one window. 👍🏻 Saves space.

If you have a screen set on the piano roll, can it work to set up the roll with any track you select or is if tied to the exact track you set it up with?

I have a dual monitor setup and my screenset was working just fine yesterday, but today it's not and I don't know what changed. Works fine in another user account. Any ideas? Apple support couldn't figure it out.

How do you save the screens to the respective numbers?
@MusicTechHelpGuy8 ай бұрын
You don't actually have to save them. Just press the number of the screenset you want, like 2 for example, then change up the windows and dialogs the way you want. Then press 1 to go back to default, and 2 return to your screenset.

Ahh yes, the ability to save screenshots would be clutch!

I still haven’t got into screensets. There’s a shortcut for most of the windows you show.
@jfbmusic8 ай бұрын
You’re absolutely right Maxine, shortcuts are handy to open another editor quickly. But when you find using several windows in specific positions in your projects, then screensets become super useful and like Josh said, save a lot of time. A floating marker window that has your lyrics per section, and that updates in real time as your song plays is pretty great. That makes for a nice screenset candidate.
