Very Freakin Helpful!!! Any suggestions for quantizing where there is some fast 16th notes between 8th notes?
@dubnickmusic9 жыл бұрын
+Justin Fowler I would set the subdivision to the smallest present in the section, so in a mix of 8ths and 16ths, I'd set it for 16ths. If there is an area of the song where results are not as you want, you might want to break it down into smaller subsections to work on. BTW, there is a new video posted on editing live multi-mic'd drums here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6Sso4OjjLCampI

for some reason i can only reduce transient sensitivity. the + button is greyed out...
@dubnickmusic9 жыл бұрын
+noisyneil You have likely reached the end of where Logic itself thinks there are detectable transients in the file, but you can manually add more transient markers wherever you feel it is appropriate with the pencil tool and fine tune their placement till they are where you want. Hope that helps! Here's a new video on editing live, multi mic'd drums in Logic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6Sso4OjjLCampI

Trim region start to previous region - where is this function located? I know you said you have to assign it yourself, but how?
@dubnickmusic9 жыл бұрын
+moosetips You will want to open the key commands list by hitting alt/option + k, then search "trim region start to previous region". If you don't find it, try searching "region start". From there it's pretty easy assign a key command for it. Sorry for the delayed response. The Trim region start to previous region does not appear to be in Logic Pro 9... Does anyone else have this issue on LP 9?? Really like his method much more than flextime but the task of having to drag a left corner back manually sucks!
@dubnickmusic8 жыл бұрын
+Jared Holton Haven't bothered to check Logic 9, but you should be able to search for the shortcut in key commands to see if it's there.

Unfortunately it looks like it's actually an upgrade in Logic X. I've been experimenting with Groove Templates but don't feel like they are actually quantizing the audio to the Groove Template. Anyone savvy with using the Groove Templates and can offer some advice?
@dubnickmusic8 жыл бұрын
+Jared Holton Yeah, I've never really messed with the Groove Templates, so I should leave that to someone who has. However, I did want to let you know that I have a new mix tutorial package available (over 2.5 hours of video, full Pro Tools session, final mastered mix all included). Here's a quick overview of what you get in the package, along with a comparison of the final mix and the raw tracks: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYjPeY2sd9N6d9E If it looks like something you'd be interested in, just go to goo.gl/OYO4zi enter "youtubechannel" at check out and you'll get it for 20% off - around 28 bucks. Even if you're primarily in Logic, you can always import the audio files from the Pro Tools session in Logic and follow along. Anyhow, thanks again for watching the channel and thanks for your feedback!
