I have been trying to figure out how to fade the EQ. I want one part of my song to go slowly from sounding underwater-ish to normal. Thank you in advanced.

When i draw the EQ in as you said, nothing happens, the filter doesnt play on the instrument. Any help ?
@MiirAudio10 жыл бұрын
Only thing i can think is maybe the line you were drawing wasn't for the correct band in the EQ instance for that track, or perhaps it was the right band but the band wasn't enabled in the EQ plugin? Gotta be something simple, hope you find it! thanks for watching... good luck.

this is exactly what I was looking for :) I am new to logic and since you said this is a "poor man's filter" what would be the more effective way to get the same effect?
@MiirAudio10 жыл бұрын
Maybe "poor man's filter" wasnt the best phrase - It's not to say that this is a less effective method, just meant that it's quick and easy. There is also an autofilter plugin in Logic Pro X and if you were to turn off "Cutoff Mod" for both the LFO and Envelope sections, you would be left with a moderately simple filter section and you could automate the cutoff knob in the same manner as i did with the EQ. This would also give you the benefit of adding resonance, which you can also do with the EQ as well, I just forgot to mention it in the vid. Thanks for watching...

out of curiosity, why didn't you use the high-pass band?
@MiirAudio9 жыл бұрын
+EthanAye Just a creative choice. you could use the high cut but you'd be doing a low-pass filter. what i was doing was a low-cut filter. they sound different. thanks for watching.
@TheEffigyOfEther8 жыл бұрын
+Miir Audio dude high pass is a low-cut. You didn't use the low-cut band, your low-cut wasn't even on in the EQ. You used the low-shelf band which came out nice cos there was some residual low frequency allowed through that made it some a bit more natural and smooth compared to if you used the low-cut. Low-cut could have sounded severe. He was asking why didn't you use the low-cut - i.e the band to your farthest left. Anyway, nice track
@MiirAudio8 жыл бұрын
+EthanAye Scott is correct, i probably read your question too fast and though you was asking why i didn't filter the other way (LPF) instead of doing a high pass - are correct about why to use the shelf instead of the "low cut" band, which you may also call "high pass".
