Nice vid as usual! And just a little "extension" on your volume curve automation. (At least this is how i do it and find VERY helpful). Never ever automate the actual volume. Insert a gain plugin instead, and automate that. This way, you keep the full controll over the volume fader even after you have "automated the volume".
@FuqqKd

Wow holy shit, that is such a good idea!! I’m always hesitant to automate for this exact reason 😂 thanks so much!

It's on iPad as well. It's nice like a remote control for your daw that you can fully mix in but the plugins all look cheesy when you pull them up. If you have an Apple computer you can mirror your monitor on your iPad too. Then it's just like a touch screen monitor.

I've been veiwing your content for a few years now and I just wanted to say I absolutely love your videos Nathan. They are comprehensive, have Great structure, are to the point (and without any unnecessary fluff), and are cleanly edited. I love the minimalism. After all, less is more. On a platform filled with so many of these content creators, it's great to find one you click with. But also who genuinely cares about sharing knowledge. It shows, and so does your hard work, so thank you!

Extremely useful for me as I knew only one tip quite well, especially as I am recording a lot with MIDI. Tips about e. g. Latency, Logic Remote, well all of them are really great, but: as I‘m not sitting at the computer I‘ll have to watch them a few times respectively go to the computer and go through them. The very first will probably be tip number 8 that I‘m going to adjust! Super, super. Thank goodness, Nathan is out there in the universe.

Another great video with a ton a value Nathan! My big takeaways are 1. The Logic Remote wow is that gonna help a ton for recording vocals like you said. 2. Converting audio into MIDI. I play keyboard but what a quick an fun way to get an idea into your daw to starting working. 3. The catch MIDI setting. It’s always bother me that MIDI doesn’t play unless it’s starting on the MIDI note. Thank you for highlighting this feature! Hope you have a great day!

If you right click the empty space at the top next to the metronome you can customize the tools in that space and add the low latency mode toggle. It is really helpful to be able to just click it on and off like you would with the metronome instead of going into the menu to find it!

An easier way to add volume automation to a synth track is to use the synth’s built in LFO and apply it to the volume (sometimes they call it amplitude). If you do that you’ll have many waveforms to choose from including a perfect sine wave.
