"Months later down the road, when we look at Logic's discography, this will be the project that a lot of people will talk about." Couldn't agree more. Give it two or three years, when the Logic-hate train dies down, and the public perception of this album will be extremely different. I feel that a lot of people don't like this currently- and that's alright, they can do them- because they are stuck in an anti-Logic mindset because that's what's the popular opinion in the hip hop community. They're going in looking for negatives (a handful of iffy lines and track titles) and only taking those negatives out. Great review, completely acknowledged the great parts of this project and gave credit where credit was due (and, admittingly, where it wasn't due at points lol). The most level headed and balanced review I've seen in awhile. Definitely subbed.
@goodmusic43895 жыл бұрын
Respect your opinion but I firmly disagree. I'd say half the songs on here are basically other artists sound that logic borrows and does ok but less good then they do it themselves. The other half are kinda bland. Lemon drop is the most ripped off song I have ever heard, it's the instrumental from parallel universe from rhcp, the flow from around the world and suck my kiss from rhcp, and a very rhcp chorus. The only sound I think he borrowed and actually shined on was probabably gonna rock your world, at least personally. Delorean was solid, under the bridge was an ok copy, vacation for myself was an ok copy, and bohemian trapsody was ok but wtf is that title lol. I'd say this album did 1 song rly good, 1 song good, 3 ok sounding tracks that I'll never return to cause I can get that sound better elsewhere, 1 ok pop song in pretty young girl, n the rest r pretty bland songs that he either reshapes or creates on his own. Respectfully I'd give it a 3.5/10. I'd love to hear why you enjoy it from start to finish.
@scharkfin90345 жыл бұрын
@@goodmusic4389 All good- I respect your opinion as well, and can understand where you're coming from for the most part. Outside of Lemon Drop, which I pretty much wholly agree with, I guess that I enjoy Logic's take on the different genres and artistic vibes, and feel that he does enough to diversify from the source material. But, I get that's a personal opinion and feeling, so it'll be different from person to person like between you and I- and that's completely okay. Like Meami kinda brought up in the review, it still feels like listening to Logic to me, not Logic cloning other bands. Another thing is that I really enjoy Logic's singing voice- I know a lot of people don't, but I guess it's a guilty pleasure of mine. Outside of the musicality and instrumentation, I enjoy that the lyrics are pretty vulnerable (even though I understand a lot of them aren't "groundbreaking") and connect a lot with the book itself. People like what they're gonna like, and dislike what they're gonna dislike. I'd give it closer to a 8/10, but I totally get where you're coming from with a 3.5/10 and don't think that's an outrageous score.

I think it's a little ignorant to assume that people that don't like this album are "Stuck in an "anti Logic mindset" While that could be the case for some imo his music just hasn't been interesting at all the last fews years. YSIV was closer to what his fans wanted but his music doesn't give me the same feeling anymore. I've been following Logic since his early Visionary days so I've watched his career evolve and I'm happy for him but his music has gone down in quality imo. I still haven't listened to this album yet but the songs I've heard so far are pretty solid.
