You can connect a DSLR camera to your computer via usb or if your camera has a hdmi output. I've used my usb output to live stream via camera software and have OBS record from that. I have also used Elgato to capture live video from cameras hdmi output and have OBS record from that video stream. It is quite common for youtubers to use a quality DSLR camera for their webcam as opposed to using a smaller computer usb Logitech or Razor like webcams. DSLRs offer better optics and you will have a variety of lens to choose from.

Actually, as per usual. Here we go with people who know nothing about how a camera works. Despite reviews, despite any camera being more "high end", the C930-e is actually just a more crisp image, but suffers a lot in other categories. C920, & the C910 actually have better stabilization. Tweak the settings some and you can make the image better. Even more shots the C930-e takes, it gets hit pretty hard in the autofocus category and take some huge stabs. Despite the C910 being a "lower end" camera, with the mio7H Small Glass cover over the eye, this camera actually jumps fatter to focus at a more immediate pace. Just because quality matters, think about the stuff you can do to tweak it. Logitech is great, and yeah I personally love their products. But I, as a person who's built a camera myself (mainly the eye, and I've designed a couple of lenses), I see others who jump at the sign of quality, later forget why they spent so much or, wonder the true difference. To finish it off, I'm gonna take pop shots at the cameras themselves. C910 - Better auto jump focus - Faster rate - Lacks in quality without tweaking - If you leave the image focused on something and forget to make movement, the image surrounding the focused objects will get grainy. C920 (The one I didn't say much about, also! This is a middle of the line webcam and still suffers it's own issues.) - Medium focus rate, but hard to get to adjust faster - The camera overlays itself a lot more than the other two, you'll see a slight film rolling down the camera, it's this camera's nature - Lens of the camera in the eye is the thinnest of the two and causes light adjustment effects, camera will get grainy when light changes randomly C930-e - Overlaying on such high image quality at a fast rate causes frame drop issues, and the given FPS rate wasn't accurate Also, for those who fail to believe that, take the camera apart, remove ioFilm and camera's front outer layer that covers it from the outside. Take footage, be careful. The film has the eye thinking it picks up a higher rate. - Stuttering issues, one of the biggest issues with having a small high end camera in a tiny package is the fact that there's not a lot of room, so some parts are forced all together. The C930-e has such a big chop that it forces the camera to close to the casing. This causes the camera to be bad at picking up fast moving objects. - One thing people seem to not notice is the fact that the camera actually isn't accurate in color. To focus, it uses a super transparent Black & White filter to cover the surrounding objects to get a better focus. - Lastly, the camera has that damn flick issue. But that's all.

+Kiwi Honestly, like I said. Even if you decide to grab a C910 you're not losing out. What causes the quality is the filming layer, and other stuff that goes on. The C910 excels at being a faster camera, the C920 has a better fast built stock imaging process that will adapt to light better over time. All together, get what you want.

Hey George! I am sure that you can connect DSLR to your PC but I think you must have additional adapters. I know that you can use EasyCAP Video Grabber to connect handycam to your PC. I do not know if it works with DSLR but I am sure there is some adapters for DSLRs. I hope I could help :D

A pop filter on a condenser mic, in most cases, don't have much 'pop'. A pop filter is mostly if the mic is close to you to avoid the sound of breathing directly on them.

I have been working in audio for 14 years and I always use pop filters. It does not make much difference but the difference it makes is noticeable in my view. Every time I record a video I always use pop filters for the reason of it can stop the pops and that can annoy people. And with microphones I have two that I always recommend are: blue snow ball (for normal talking/ commentating but not good for singing) and the other is the shire SM58 (for singing and can also be used for talking/commentating). I use a SM58 as in my view it is the better of the two. I hope anyone reading this find it useful.

well basically, I'm going to get the C920 because i heard great things about it, i already have a good mic, this mic is Blue Snowball Ice Edition, i also have a boom arm (a thing that attaches to your desk/surface that hold your mic up) to help me get better mic quality, I also have a pop filter (stops the "POP" sound when you say words that start with the letter "P") to aslo improve the quality. A pop filter isnt necessary for every mic. It depends on how far you have the microphone from you. In your case George, you didn't really need it but either way. Its better being safe than sorry. Nice work George. Freedom! fam for the win. 😄😄

George as far as I know any Canon camera with the software that comes with it can save pictures and live video to the computer. I have a 600D and sometimes I have used it as a webcam, the quality is just amazing.

The c930e is not much of a difference in comparison in terms of crispness in video quality as the video's are uploaded in 720p so as KZbin compresses the video to make it have better playback so the fact that the quality is more crisp won't stand out, also most people have a 1080p display so that the quality will mostly be lost making the only difference will be the higher colour accuracy.

He used a separate mic; a Blue Yeti I think. He also used soft box lighting I"m pretty sure. I'm sure he either used OBS or XSplit for recording software. If you look up George's green screen video tutorial, I think he showed everything he usually uses on there. I use a Pop Filter for my Blue Snoball Microphone as well as a Canon Vixia HFR400 which plays 60fps quality face cam. If you want a good DSL camera that connects to the computer without an SD CARD would be one that has internal built-in memory. Hope that helps! Also, your pop filter gives the quality of your voice a much smoother feel. Good call on the filter! Finally, that's a good camera there George! It seems you got the c930e to work really well for your computer! :) My most recent vlog is my most recent video if you want to see me in 60fps using the Canon camera I mentioned above! Ubuntu Problems, the concerns with Wifi are latency, signal degradation and connectivity issues. This is why it is always recommended to have a wired connection for live streaming as it is more dependable and has less latency that Wifi which has signal degradation the further away from the router your device is and this in compounded when the signal must travel through walls and other obstacles. The same principles apply for any video transmitted wirelessly. So, the Wifi feature _can_ work, however to have it work optimally be sure to arrange your camera as close to and within direct line of sight to the router and remove all components of interference as much as possible for the best quality. :-)

great video quality with the 30e. I think a pop filter would be nice only because it will probably make the audio quality a bit better :)

Does anyone have any advice for me? I bought a Kworld gm220 capture card but I can't get it to work. I installed all the necessary files and set it up correctly but the source input shows no image. I'm unable to record anything! I can, however, hear a buzzing noise and my laptop recognises the device, as does powerdirector. Sometimes, when I Change the source input, the box flickers green. It's like it's trying to find the image. please help, I've tried everything and I'm at my wits end!

+TeeGG What are you recording from? An Xbox One and 360 should work. A PS3 and PS4 are known for capture card difficulties!

TeeGG Just use a digitial capture source I would recomend using a trial of Camstasia!

The new cam looks good I will give it that. I haven't done much face cam stuff when I record my videos and even if I did, my camera is just not able to handle that. It's ok for what it is, but you can definitely tell it's a cheaper model. I guess I shouldn't have expected greatness. But do you guys truly prefer to see the person on cam when watching a video? Does it feel that much more special for the viewers? If it does, it's something I can consider about doing, when I get a better quality cam. Let me know. Same with you George, I want to know your opinion! I've given you so many long constructive comments on your videos and have yet to hear from you. Do you really read all the comments? It's ok if you don't, there are a lot of them ;) lol. One more thing, DitterRs may not have the most appealing page... but somehow he has more subs than myself... What am i doing wrong? I would love to get some opinions from you guys. I've been told I have great potential, but maybe I'm missing a method to getting my name around? I don't know. For now I'll continue to sit in my dark corner chugging healing potions until I go red. lol

Hey george something very important I need to say. Now before I saw whatever my situation is, I have made a few comments on this (not copypaste spam) on some previous videos and sent a support ticket on this and I did not get a reply for this. Now for dashboard tm, theres 2 things that are bugging me for the youtube to dailymotion sync feature. The first part is that not all the videos load. Now I don't want to upload my old videos from last year and want to upload newer ones, but they won't show up. My second problem is that I can't stop uploading a video that's being schedueled which annoys me so much because I had some deleting to do over at my dailymotion channel. I would love to see if there can be fixes/new features to this.
