Logitech ConferenceCam Connect

We spent a few days with the Logitech ConferenceCam Connect fully intending to keep it. It performed nicely and had excellent sound through the built in speaker. In a one piece design (not counting USB cable and power supply) it is easy to move from room to room.
Ultimately the price seemed extravagant for what we got and we'll be moving to a far cheaper Logitech WebCam C920 on a tripod, along with the Samson GoMic with or without a table top mic stand. At about $140 total, instead of $440, we'll be able to divert the extra funds into other expenses (computer, travel, food, etc).

Great review! After seeing your review, I have decided to go with Sam GoMic and Logitech C930e. I intend to use them in a Skype group conference, so I have to use an external speaker so that all the participants can hear the sound. Not sure how well GoMic cancels echo, but I hope it works well!

Hi Tom, Great video thanks, so is it not possible to connect this to your iPad. I am looking at doing remote site meetings and being able to connect to the 4G iPad would be a real benefit?

Hi Joshua - you should be able to use this as a speaker on the iPad but not a camera. Up until this day, Apple has provided no support for webcams on iPadOS. So Apple's decision is obstacle #1 to this working as a camera, and then Logitech would have to follow up with support, so I wouldn't hold your breath. Most recent iPads have decent cameras of their own, so you could look into a tripod mount for your iPad and then a table top tripod. I have a video on an inexpensive and very effective solution for that.

It should show up as an option in Zoom under the tiny arrow to the right of where you would turn your video on or off

@@TomQsTechTips thank you very much. That's the thing... It doesn't. When I pair connect to my Mac it shows the icon of a headset and the sound does work but it does not find the camera... I've tried teams, googlemeet, gotommeting...

disappointed with the camera, it is not really wireless and portable one. When you connect via Bluetooth only sound comes out, no video. Also you can't connect it to iPad, again you can but only as a speaker. I bought it to put on some distance to cover whole room with all team members inside so we all can collaborate, in this case wires will be thru all the table, to put it next to you I see no point as almost all devices nowadays including laptops and tablets have their own cameras. So it is pretty useless, unless Logitech can have firmware to have ability wirelessly connect it like Own Pro

Thank you for your review of the Connect. I am a movement teacher, physical therapist and shifting to online teaching with clients through Zoom. I thought this unit would allow me to shift from standing to sitting and lying positions as I am demonstrating with using the remote. But now through your careful study I see I would want an optical zoom. I also really like the portability of the this unit. You mentioned the 3000E. But I can not find this at Logitech. Did you check this out? Would you give me any guidance with a unit. I did just receive the Connect in the mail, but now am hesitant to open it. I wish I had seen this prior to the purchase. Hi Karen, I think the current product with optical zoom is called the Logitech "Group". It's about $1100. I really thought about going that route, but I never did check it out. I decided to really go for it and get a video switcher, so that I could use multiple cameras. There are a number of videos on my setup in the channel. Are you on a Mac or PC? I could potentially make a lower cost recommendation if you're on a Mac,

By the way, when I reviewed this, I was able to return the Logitech ConferenceCam Connect for just the cost of shipping it back. It might be worth experimenting with it. I'd reach out to your seller and see what they say.

I haven't used my cam in years, I heard it turn on with a loud sound, but seems like I can't hold a charge even. It's not turning on, it's not powering up, I've tried to power it up with the plug in to a surge protector and also plugging it into my laptop, nothing works, help!

Thanks for the video. I can't stand bad audio, and I'm convinced that using an external microphone is the way to go. How is your microphone connected? Is it hooked into the webcam directly, or into the computer?

The Logitech C920 webcam and the Samson Go-Mic are plugged into separate USB ports.

Hi scvidvard - That was a simple mic stand with and extension arm. I will add links in the description. For light mics and cameras I use the more flexible scissor boom extension arm. Also linked in the description.

Camera for live talk show I'm looking for camera to use it for live talk show over phone or iPad. Mostly the calls will be over Zoom, Skype, KZbin or WhatsApp Video call. I did look at Logitech ConferenceCam, DJI, GoPro not sure if they will support WhatsApp call. Please suggest your opinions, thanks in advance.

I haven’t had this for 2 1/2 years now, but I am 99.99% sure that there is no wireless video option if that is what you’re asking. I believe the Bluetooth is for the audio portion only. And yes it does have that.
