Logitech G Pro Wireless Vs. Razer Viper Ultimate - The Two BEST Wireless Mice Compete

Razer Viper Ultimate Vs Logitech G Pro Wireless. These are two of the best gaming mice on the market. I'll be comparing how they differ along with which is better objectively and subjectively. They are both ambidextrous mice with similar specs and performance.
Five years ago, gaming competitively with a wireless mouse was science fiction. But in 2016 Logitech released their LIGHTSPEED wireless and changed the entire game with the ability to be as fast or faster than most wired mice. It took years for other companies to even come close. But now Razer has entered the arena with their HyperSpeed wireless.

I hate that I even have to mention this. This isn’t a paid review. I bought both of these mice with my own money out of my own volition. If it is ever a sponsored review it will be mentioned in my intro. Second, even if it were a paid review I would NEVER and I mean not ever say one product is better than another simply because I’m getting paid. Nor will I ever say that a product is good when it isn’t to try and get financial compensation in any way, shape, or form. I don’t fanboy. I will never give a positive review to a product just because of the brand it comes from. I review each product based on its own merits and cost. If another product relates well to it, such as in this case, I keep it in mind throughout my testing. and if one product is better than another it is because the testing has shown that to be true and has earned that spot based on its own merits. It is never just given.

Need more of this! I can't stand when I get to the end of the video or mid way through and they say this item was shipped to them for free or given to them for free. Just ruins the entire video for me I feel like it should be announced at the start of the video. Personally I want to hear from ppl that spent their hard earned money just like me.
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
@@TuMuchTa1ent1 I completely agree that it needs to be mentioned at the beginning of the video if they received the product for free. That way you know going in that the review could be biased. The guidelines for that are also not very specific and rarely enforced which leads to a lot of mistrust. So, I think them coming out with offical guidelines would be benefical for everyone. I also prefer when people have spent their hard earned money on it as it makes it less likely that it is biased. But a quick look behind the curtain. As I think that watching people who pay for all their own products is also a double edged sword. As it's hard to find high quality reviews with people who don't receive free products. Because if you find a product you like as a consumer what is the point of buying another product? Which also makes it difficult to judge how good a product is. For example if I've only tried 1 mouse, it could be horrible, but since I had a good experience with it I could rank it as high. As I have nothing to compare it too. Whereas, if I've tried 10 mice then I can more accurately judge how good it is. But being able to afford 10 mice is difficult for most people so that rarely happens. If you are like me, and want to have a tech KZbin channel it also makes it difficult. As tech is super expensive and I'm not a rich guy. My channel is no where near large enough to cover my expenses as you need to have a very large channel in order to cover expenses. Such as around 50 - 100K views per video. Which is where getting products for free is helpful because it allows reviewers to look at stuff they normally wouldn't have access to. But I think that is where it comes down to the individual. If they are good at what they do then they won't allow a product they recieve for free to bias their opinion. I've also found that most companies don't care if you give a positive for negative review. As it's techincally a win win. If they have a good product they will get a good review which increases sales. If they have a bad product then they will get a bad review and know where they can make improvements for their next product. Personally, I am far more intereseted in how my viewers see me, which hopefully comes across as unbiased and informative than how any company will. As if they don't want to work with me because I gave a negative review then I don't want to work with them anyways or promote their products. Also, when I get a product for free I don't put any affiliate links in the description as I think that gives the wrong impression. Which means, depending on how much the product was, I make less money off those videos than I do on a video I pay for myself (which I still don't go anywhere near even with). So I think that is what makes it difficult. As there are a lot of bad apples which ruin it for everyone else. For me, I'm just a poor dude who loves tech, and need a way to try and cover those expenses when I buy a new toy. lol.

G-Pro i found to have a near perfect shape for me, and i absolutely love how the frame comes up to the outside of the buttons... doing a mod soon to reduce weight to just over 60g... the shell of the gwolves hati is actually absolutely perfect, i just don’t like the left and right mouse buttons. World class review. Been using the g pro for almost two years now. Never had double click issues while gaming. Can't say much about the other one since i've never touched it, i'm sure it's better than g-pro on paper but the g-pro is perfect in every way for me. Will never change no matter what as long as it gets the job done the way i want it. I just purchased the g-pro mouse a few days ago and I can confirm mine has a double click issue and many people have also noted this as well, but I can live with this is due to the benefits. Previously I used a IE 3.0 that had negative decel and a random scroll wheel issue. I don't think any mouse is perfect but I think the g-pro is closest to perfection. I think the double click issue is due to the very low pressure it actually takes to register a click. But the issue can be easily scene when in aimlab or OSU!. But overall, the g-pro smokes everything I have ever used, and I have used and sold lots of gaming mice.

@@hyund9i I agree with everything said. It is a truly fantastic mouse and I think it beats nearly all the other mice out there. I think my top three in no particular order are the G Pro Wireless, Razer Viper Ultimate, and the Ultralight 2 then probably the Glorious Model O- then MM710. I would still recommend going through an RMA if you cannot exchange it in store for a working one that doesn't have the double click issue.

I think your approach is fantastic. You've got an approachable quality that desaturates the deep-tech specs to the point that, even as a comparatively passive game techie, I really enjoying listening. From a video stand point - I think that music is a GOOD choice. The reason this one is distracting, in my opinion, is that tonally the guitar is fairly close to the timbre of your voice. Just shifting to something that leans more on lower frequency instruments, but keeps the momentum of the drums (maybe not the splashy cymbals), would totally work.

But I continue to come back to the Viper Ultimate year after year despite trying a TON of the other mice. They did something special with it. But since you just bought it I do want to bring up that word on the street is they are dropping an updated Razer Viper Ultimate here soon with some upgrades. Such as 57ish grams compared to 74 - 78. Also, Gen 3 switches, no RGB, no rubber sides, just left sided side buttons, improved feet, maybe an updated sensor and longer battery life? It's as confirmed as something unconfirmed can be and I'd expect that to be launching in the next three months. I'll definitely be buying it when it comes out to compare to the original. But I just know when I buy a new product I get upset when a new one drops shortly thereafter and just wanted to give you the heads up.

should I wait out for the possible razer viper ultimate mini or the viper ultimate? I have about 6 inch long hands and don't like the shape of the g pro wireless, it was just too big. I have a relaxed claw normally but have also liked larger mice but the god like ergo mouse, the ec2b wasn't for me. current model o- user and am having frequent spinouts. what your opinion? Edit: I would be down to try the superlight tho.
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
I think that's a hard call. As I expect the the Super Light to be released anytime now. I also wouldn't be surprised if Razer is waiting for that to happen before they drop the Mini. As I swear it's a thing even though there hasn't been any official confirmation. The Glorious Model O Wireless is also supposed to be coming out here soon which may be a good option with a new sensor. I'm surprised that you are getting spinouts on the Model O- as that shouldn't be happening with the 3360. I think my recommendation due to the time of year and what I'm hearing on the internet is I'd wait until Christmas to make a choice. Just to see what releases in the next two months. As there may be a lot of new options that aren't available right now. Otherwise the Viper Ultimate is a great choice.

Specific question ...I have a Model O and use the side button to sprint in almost all games. So you can say I click it very often, especially in COD to tactical sprint so I’m constantly clicking the side button. To me the Model O has great buttons that do not require much force to press so it’s not distracting while i’m focusing on other things. Will the Viper side buttons be too hard to press constantly? Or are they similar to the Model O? From what I’ve heard people make it seem like the buttons are hard to press and you gotta make a point to press them. Lmk what you think if possible! Thanks I’ve also only owned the Model O and G502 so I don’t have much to go off of.
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried the Model O yet. It is on the list to try. I think I pre-ordered the Model D Minus or whatever that is coming out in August so I'll have a chance to try it out then. But when I first got the Viper Ultimate it took a bit of getting used to as they are more flush against the device instead of sticking out. But at this point I don't even notice anymore and find them to be very comfortable and natural. As I can just slide my thumb up to activate them. I prefer them over the G Pro Wireless. But I don't think they are better than the Finalmouse Ultralight 1 and 2. Which are my favorite side buttons of all time. So, all that to say that I think it will take a little bit of an adjustment period as you acclimate to the mouse due to them being flush instead of sticking out. But after that I don't think you will find them too be all that bad. As they are similar size and shape as the Model O.
@Tarky2

Sir Galahad thanks for the in depth response brotha I’ll prob go with the razer due to the newer tech then. I have kind of a palm/claw grip and heard the G Pro is better for that but I’ve heard such great things about the Viper I can’t pass it up.

I would agree that the GPW does better for palm grip. As it actually has a rear hump whereas the RVU does not. But I find the the RVU to be more comfortable all around. But I use claw/fingertip which is what it was made for.
@Tarky2
@Tarky2 4 жыл бұрын
Sir Galahad Just thought i’d update the thread. Went to best buy and they had the viper ultimate on display but not the G pro. The ultimate was not good for my hand at all, it’s low to the ground so it doesn’t really fit into my palm. The buttons on the side were only able to be pressed by pretty much finger tip gripping the mouse and bending my thumb at a weird angle. Basically pressing the side buttons forced me into messing up my aim. The recessed buttons were hard to find and definitely not what i’m used to. The M1/M2 clicks felt like garbage for a lack of a better term in comparison to the Logitech mice on display. Logitechs were very crisp and defined and the ultimate was almost as if i didn’t know if i was clicking down or not. Hard to describe but it felt kinda cheap to be honest. The rubber grips were awesome though. I immediately picked up the G Pro box without even being able to test it. Got home and opened it up and holy shit I’m happy. That thing is slightly small in my hands but absolutely perfect. Let’s me palm/claw grip it and the clicks are crisp. Barely feel the weight difference Makes me realize how bad the model O was for my grip/hand but I didn’t know better. Anybody that likes anything other than finger tip grip should go G Pro in my opinion. I have no reason to pick one side or the other i’m not a fan boy. Maybe the tech is better in the Viper but man the G Pro wins in every other category. Except the side rubber grips the viper has which are awesome. My next mouse after this will be the G Pro 2....

Hey very informative video! I was just wondering you mentioned the tensioned logitech buttons and was wondering, how easy are the viper ultimate's buttons to click in comparison?
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
So, I would consider the Logitech G Pro Wireless to take a mild amount of pressure to click with very short travel and reset time. Probably the shortest out of any mouse I've tried. Whereas, the Razer Viper Ultimate takes a mild/moderate amount of pressure to actuate with longer travel and reset time. I don't find it to be by much though. I would say it is on par with a lot of other mice. For the crisp click I would say they are both super similar. However, I have heard that both switches can be "mushy" but I think that is due to defective units. But figured I'd mention that. As reviews on KZbin, Reddit, Amazon, and Best Buy all say that the left and right click are mushy at times. While others say they are great or just different due to not being mechanical switches. I've tried three Viper mice and all three of them had great left and right clicks. I haven't experienced any mushiness. The G Pro Wireless does struggle a lot with double clicks and also mushy buttons. So I'm not really sure how to take it. I haven't had problems with either and think at the end of the day, as long as you didn't get a defective unit, that it comes down to personal preference. Did that answer you question?

I personally think the Razer Viper Ultimate is the better mouse out of the two. But I would say that the Logitech G Pro Wireless and the Razer Viper Ultimate are two of the absolute best mice on the market. So, if you're a mouse enthusiast and enjoy having multiple mice then it's worth the price. If you have a second PC that you would use your other wireless mouse with it may justify the purchase. But if you're going to buy it and then put it back in a box after trying it out then no. It really comes down to personal preference and if it would be worth it to you. My rule of thumb is this. In this case this mouse costs $150. If I get 150 hours of use out of it that means I will pay a dollar a minute with it. In which case it's worth it. Especially, if it get 300 hours of use. Then it's 50 cents. Etc... If I get 10 hours of use then no.

If I scroll down quickly and then back up it's at the same place every time. The only time it isn't is because I scroll a bit more or less. It doesn't drift. It never skips when I scroll slowly. That's for both the G Pro Wireless and the Viper Ultimate. In my opinion Corsairs wireless still has a long ways to go before I would classify it as good as Logitech or Razer's. And Razer JUST earned that spot with the Viper Ultimate.

Hi Gallahad! You made very good video. Hope u will have growth on youtube! You dedicade your self with a lot of energy. A part of that, i would like to ask you a question, im a palm grip user and already stick with razer deathadder models for 6 years. The thing is that i want a wirless mouse with good shape like deathadder without feeling something wrong. Unfortunately in my city i cant try any mices before by them, so i need to be sure what im buying. What do you think is better option for me, viper ultimate, basilisk uktimate or pick up mamba with older sensor?
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
I don’t think the Razer Viper Ultimate would be comfortable for palm grip because the back of the mouse lacks a hump. Where the Razer Basilisk Ultimate is built to be a right handed ergonomic mouse which makes me believe it’s shape would have a hump on the back and is made for palm grip. It also has nearly the same specs as the Razer Viper Ultimate but is a lot heavier and a bit more expensive. I would avoid the Mamba. So, I think out of the mice that you mentioned that the Basilisk Ultimate would be the best choice.

Sir Galahad thank you very much for your response, but, if you know rocket jump ninja, professional quake player, and fps shooter, he says that he wouldn't pick basilisk for FPS games, and actually, I don't understand why? Is because of the heavyweight of the mice or because of shape, I don't really get. And a part of that, I'm not a superglobal elite player or cybersportist, but I like to play with comfort and with the best of the best on the market. So the last question is, if for my needs, like playing story mode games and fps games like Insurgency sandstorm, COD modern warfare, and others, is it a good idea to pick basilisk ultimate, or maybe just continue with my DeathAdder elite and don't spend money on basically the same, while my mice still working properly... Yes, I know of Rocket Jump Ninja (RJN). He's a major player in the community. As for your questions. Here's a bunch of thought vomit for you to go through. I do agree with RJN about the Razer Basilisk Ultimate not being the best for FPS gaming. You are correct in your assumption that the reason why most people do not recommend heavy mice (in this case the Basilisk Ultimate is 107 grams) is because it makes flick shots and what I dub pixel aiming to be more difficult than lighter mice (such as the Razer Viper Ultimate at 74 grams). Just do to physics, right? As something that has greater mass (heavier) is going to require A. More effort to move and stop, especially quickly. (Flick shots and tracking) B. require more effort to be precise, (adjustments for flick shots and quick changes with tracking) and C. will cause more fatigue over time due to it being heavier. I think a good rule of thumb is that most people will state that if you are "serious" about "FPS" gaming that a mouse that is

Hello Sir Galahad! Just found out your channel and wanted to ask you a question: Have you ever had a creacky/crunchy feel on the RVU? I've had 2 of them and both developed this after a week of normal use, especially on M2. I loved everything about the mouse, but after my second Viper Ultimate arriving with this issue out of the box (and worsening over time) I just couldn't justify trying my luck on a 3rd $150 bucks mouse. I have no idea why but like 75-80% of reviewers never mention this, but others (like myself) got it on every mouse we had. Amazon was kind enough to process a refund without me having to return the mouse and while I kinda got a RVU for free it's not what I was going for since I still have a defective mouse. I then decided to buy the GPW since I saw it actually shipping to my country for the first time in years (pretty hard to find anyone who ships to Mexico for a fair price) and I've been using it for around 3 weeks... but the shape doesn't really fit me that well. Ever since I switched to the RVU, I switched my grip style so that my thumb's metacarpal (kind of where the thumb's bones connect to the actual palm) touched the bottom of the mouse, but the rest of my palm stays off the mouse. This gets painful on prolonged sessions with the GPW since the hump kind of pushes me away from the mouse, whereas with the RVU I get some mild discomfort if anything. I think the RVU is superior in every way except for the button's crunchyness and even though common sense tells me otherwise, I really want to return my GPW and try my luck on a 3rd RVU. Just as a side note: I tried using it a couple of days ago since I noticed the crunchyness kind of went away, but returned quickly after a couple of hours of use. Not even sure how that works lol, kind of want to bet on this being a design flaw if anything. Keep up the great work, man! Earned my sub today, can't wait to see your future reviews!
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Ohmnity, I have never had a creak or crunch with my RVU. I have had several comments about this issue though which I was unaware of when I made the video. I'd say out of every 5 positive comments I get 1 negative one. Do keep in mind the main failure point for any mouse will be the clicks. It got to the point I was getting asked so much about it I did some research about it and out of Amazon and Best Buy reviews combined I found that 4.3% of RVU users have a click issue. Compared to 10 - 15% for the Logitech G Pro Wireless. The only other mouse I have looked at in this regard is the Finalmouse Ultralight 2 (which I will be uploading that video tomorrow) which has like 4.6% of users. So, I think the reason why most don't mention it is because it only affects a relatively small amount of the population. Which still completely sucks if you are one of them. Are you unable to go through the warranty process in Mexico? Personally, especially since you greatly enjoy the RVU I'd try to return and get a third one as it's your right as a paying customer to get one that works. I had to return my Asus Monitor and my Hifiman headphones 4 - 5 times before I got a good one. Also, I appreciate the kudos. Welcome welcome to the knights of the round table. I am very happy you are here and hope you enjoy your time here. Let me know if you have any other questions.

@@ThomasMuehler Thank you very much for your quick reply! It does completely suck since I'm still part of that 4.6%, but you just gave me the courage to try a third time for a fully functional RVU. Unfortunately, I spoke to Razer directly and they confirmed me that if wanted to RMA it I'd need a USA/Canada address to ship it to since Mexico isn't in their reach (I even offered to pay for all shipping expenses but they outright ignored this). @@ThomasMuehler Just wanted to give a follow up on this and after a week of making and cancelling my orders I finally got my 3rd RVU yesterday and it feels quite different from my second unit. It almost feels... sturdier? Not sure how to describe it, but my clicks are fine right out of the box! There is an ever so slight wiggle on M1 that makes the faintest of crunches (but I'm 100% sure is a nocebo effect since I'm actively trying to find any imperfections with the clicks and it happens very near the edge, though this might go away with use. I don't notice it when using it for work or when gaming, so this might just be me lol). Mouse scroll is still loud scrolling up but that really doesn't bother me. I'll try to use this for a week or two before deciding to keep it or not, but so far so good! Just as a little side note: I know this sounds super silly, but my god awful unit was made in China. This 3rd unit was made in Taiwan (hence why this sounds silly) but so far this is the sturdiest RVU I've had of the 3 I owned. Not sure if I got a more recent batch, but just pointing that out there in case it's somehow relevant.

Just switched from the Razer Ultimate to the G Pro Wireless, primarily due to my claw/palm hybrid grip style. Yes, Razer comes with the dock, but it doesn't seem to work 100% of the time for me (meaning I have to lift up and down several times to make it charge). Maybe mine's faulty? But it's been the case since Day 1. Also, the L and R clicks on the Razer seem so "mushy". Clicking down on certain areas on the L and R and you'll be able to notice it rather significantly. Gives the impression of a bad build quality IMHO. Normal gaming wise, I doubt 90% of the people out there will feel the real difference in terms of latency and sensor, etc. But the fact that G Hub allows me to store different sensitivities based on the games being launched is a BIG plus. Also, somehow I find the G Pro has a longer battery life for me, given the same settings and usage and charges faster. Again, this is purely based on "the feels", not "scientifically proven". But overall, I guess the main factor for someone choosing between both these 2 mice, I would say get a feel of both and see which suits your grip. Then see which mouse buttons/clicks feel better for you.

What mouse is the best for you can be different for me. So it really comes down to personal preference and what you are looking for. Both of these mice are considered medium/large so may not be super comfortable due to your hand size. But unfortunately you don't know until you try. Personally I believe that the Razer Viper Ultimate is the better mouse in almost every way. As it is lighter (74 grams vs 80 grams), has a superior sensor, and uses optical switches which are faster than mechanical due to no debounce delay and immune to double clicks. It also comes with a charging dock which is a nice addition. However, it only works for claw and fingertip grip. Palm is not officially supported and due to the lack of a hump on the back I don't think it would be comfortable. A lot of people also complain about the clicks and side buttons on this mouse. However, a lot of people prefer the shape of the G Pro Wireless, the feel of the clicks, side buttons, and the modular design. It also supports all grip types (palm, claw, and fingertip). Which is why I say personal preference comes into play. It does have a significant problem with double clicks. So, to answer your question. If I could only buy one mouse between the G Pro Wireless and the Viper Ultimate I would buy the Viper Ultimate easy choice for me. I'd be interested in hearing which one you choose and your thoughts on it. As being someone with a smaller hand can give me good info on others who have the same question as you.

Nice vid man! Need your opinion or anyone's opinion really, I'm planning to buy a new gaming mouse, my choices are the 2 mentioned here in the vid but my main problems are, for the G Pro Wireless - the double clicking issue seems prevalent while on the Razer mouse I've also seen some issues that the build is cheap and the battery malfunctions pretty fast? My hands are medium with me using mainly fingertip grip and mainly play FPS games, would really appreciate any help or recommendations!
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Adrian, I know this doesn't help but I think that you will love either choice. As they are both fantastic mice. With that out of the way I have gotten a ton of complaints about the double click issue with the G Pro Wireless in my comments sections. But I've never had a issue in any of the Logitech Mice I've tried. And I've tried almost their entire lineup. But ended up keeping the Logitech G Pro Wireless, G502, G305, and G900. As for the Viper Ultimate the only complaint that I've seen is some people do not like the feel of the main clicks. That they feel "mushy". As stated in the video I've tried all three of their Viper mice and had no issues with it. The Viper Mini has the best clicks out of the Viper and Viper Ultimate. It's also the newest which means Razer R&D is listening to user feedback which is nice. I haven't heard of any battery problems. Some people expect to get 70 hours with chroma lighting on which is incorrect. As that will effect battery life varying on how bright and which color chosen. This will happen on the G Pro as well. For me I charge my Viper Ultimate less often then I charged my G Pro Wireless. But that will vary from person to person. I'm also not associated with Razer in any way so it's not like I'm completely in the loop of defects. But from what I've seen and from my comments section I wouldn't worry to much about that. As for the build being "cheap". These people have no idea what they are talking about. Which sounds pompous but let me explain. The material that the Viper uses is similar to PBT keycaps (which most people praise as being of high quality) which actually increases grip. But because it doesn't have a particular shine (as most other mice use a shiny glossy material such as the Logitech G Pro Wireless) this makes people believe it is low quality plastic. Which is incorrect. On top of that you add a very light shell (74g) and people think its a piece of junk. Completely missing the point that a bunch of engineering went into the mouse to make it light. As most wired mice are probably around the 100g mark with wireless mice being probably greater than 110g. So being at least 26 grams lighter is a big shock to most. People often also mistakingly believe that if something is heavy it is of high quality. Which is why a lot of products (including mice) actually add weights inside their products to make them heavier. The Viper Ultimate was specifically made for medium hands and people who use Claw/Fingertip and for FPS. The Logitech G Pro Wireless is made for the same exact thing but supports palm grip a bit better. Hopefully, that made the choice a bit easier. I'd love to hear which one you choose and your thoughts on it once you try it out.

@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 3 жыл бұрын
Both mice are 10/10 so you can't go wrong with either. Specs on the Razer Viper Ultimate (RVU) are better. Most find the G Pro Wireless (GPW) to have a better and more comfortable shape. Now the G Pro X Superlight (GPX) is also about 20 grams lighter than the RVU. So, you may want to go down that route. I know Razer has something cooking. But I'm not sure when they are actually dropping. I think one is coming up here soon. With a few in 2022. I'm expecting an updated RVU and possibly a Razer Viper Mini Ultimate. But currently, I think the GPX is probably the mouse to get between battery life, shape, feel, and weight.

@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
Man, that's a tough choice. Comes down to personal preference honestly. I think both of those choices are excellent and don't think you'd go wrong with either. Regarding the keyboards. I think objectively the Huntsman TE is better. Simply because it's using optical switches which means that they are immune to chatter. They are also faster. Not in a way that we would notice. But they require less force to actuate which turn some people off and others greatly appreciate. I would also argue that even though Razer Synapse can be a finicky the software is superior when it is working with what you are able to do. It has better RGB (color accuracy) and also is a lot more in-depth in what you can create with it. I'm also not sure if the Logitech keyboard allows you to change every key on it like the Huntsman TE can. Then you can double that with the FN key. I think the Logitech one only has 12 programmable keys. I also think the TE has a USB C connection over USB Micro. Last, I think the build quality may be a bit better on the TE. However, with that said the Logitech G Pro X comes with swappable switches. Which means that if one were to develop chatter than you could just replace it. Also, if you didn't like REDS you could end up buying BLUES or something else to replace them. Or mix and match. However, buying additional key sets for that keyboard is super expensive. As for the G Pro Wireless over the Viper Ultimate that is what this video is made for. They both perform 10/10. They are separated by minor differences that are based on user preference. But objectively the Viper Ultimate is better spec and performance wise without taking into account personal preference. My personal choice would be the Huntsman TE and the Viper Ultimate. But once again you can't go wrong with either. But I do think, objectively, that Razer has more going for it over Logitech. But both mice suffer from some problems with QA.

You’re probably not gonna read this but can you compare the G703 with the viper or the g pro wireless?
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
Put very simply the difference between the G703 and the Viper and G Pro Wireless are going to be shape and weight. With the G703 being ergonomic best for palm grip and the Viper and G Pro Wireless being made mostly for claw/fingertip. But the G Pro Wireless supports palm better than the Viper. They are all medium/large mice. The next big thing is going to be weight with G703 being 107 grams, Viper at 69 grams, and G Pro Wireless at 80 grams. Most people say the lighter the mouse the better it will be for FPS. Last, the Viper comes with optical switches which are immune to double clicks where the G703 and the G Pro Wireless use mechanical switches that some report have a crisper feel but can develop double clicks. The G703 and the G Pro Wireless are going to be almost exactly the same. In the sense that they use they same tech (HERO sensor, mechanical switches, mechanical tensioning system). The biggest difference between those two is going to be shape. With the G Pro Wireless being a more ambidextrous shape that is more neutral. Meaning it has a pronounced hump with mild tapering on the sides and modular buttons due to support left and right hands. It supports all hand grips but mostly claw/fingertip. Whereas, the G703 is going to be an ergonomic mouse that supports mainly palm but also claw/fingertip. Last the G703 is a lot heavier at 107 grams whereas the G Pro Wireless is 80 grams. Which makes the G Pro Wireless better for FPS due to the weight. As for the G703 and the Viper. Pretty much the same as I listed above. The Viper is ambidextrous, has less of a hump on the back and more severe tapering on the sides and is made for fingertip/claw and doesn't support palm grip well due to the lack of a hump on the back of the device. It also uses optical switches which are immune to double clicks over the G703 which uses mechanical switches. The Viper is also wired whereas the G703 is wireless. Weight is also dramatically different once again with the G703 at 107 grams and the Viper at 69 grams. Which once again makes the Viper better for FPS due to the weight and shape.

Both of them are 10/10 mice so you can't go wrong with either one. Mice come down to personal preference. So, it really comes down to which mouse checks the most boxes for you. I'd recommend thinking about what you are looking for in a mouse (shape, size, weight, specs, etc.) and what type of grip you use. I'd recommend the G Pro X Superlight over the G Pro Wireless. Unless you are really wanting RGB and modular buttons. But think the Superlight is better than the G Pro. The Logitech G Pro X Superlight is going to be a lot lighter which is noticeable but not everything. Primary clicks on both are excellent. But slightly better on the Superlight. However, the side buttons are better on the Viper (as they are more crisp as the Superlight feels more mushy). However, some people don't like the right side buttons as they can get in the way. It's not an issue for me. Shape wise if you do palm grip go with the G Pro. If you are more of a claw/fingertip than Viper is better. Spec wise the Viper Ultimate is superior. I do feel a difference but it is minor and me splitting hairs. Viper Ultimate also comes in more colors.

Never underestimate the comfort on a device you will use on a daily basis for years, Razer's Viper ultimate is more flat and is mostly comfortable for finger tip, kinda can be used for claw grip too but no palm grip unless you have a considerable small hand. I couldn't work with the Razer one for long periods of time, fingers get tired of the grip and wrist starts claiming for a break. I use Logitech for: Programming - design - digital art - gaming In that priority order so if you do something related be aware of this Razer mice. (Also idk why Razer lacks of some type of quality control on their factories, many devices are poorly constructed, buy Razer is a 50/50 rulette)

It is marketed as a fingertip/claw grip mouse and doesn't officially support palm. Also, comfort is definitely personal preference. As the the Viper Ultimate is extremely comfortable to me and I can use it all day without any problems whatsoever. But I also use Claw/Fingertip. Razer's QA still leaves a lot to be desired. But they are slowly improving. Logitech isn't completely free from defects either. Their mice suffer prolifically with double clicks. Buying any gaming mouse there is a certain level of risk when it comes to the main mouse clicks. I still consider both of these mice to be two of the best on the market despite their flaws in QA.

Double click will only affect the Logitech G Pro Wireless as it uses mechanical switches. It won't happen in the Razer Viper Ultimate because it uses optical switches. My research showed that a double click defect is present in about 10 - 15% of the user base for the GPW. Compared to 4.3% for the Razer Viper Ultimate. Also, keep in mind that for all mice there main point of failure will be clicks. For the Finalmouse Ultralight 2 it was 4.6% of users.

Build Quality and Materials are absolutely no contest here: Razer quality control is really inconsistent while logitech products are very rarely fault and they lasts for a decade. Missing point for the G Pro!
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
In the past I'd completely agree with you. Razer generally is overpriced, and for sure came with questionable build quality and materials. Which is why a lot of people have a negative viewpoint of their brand which is founded. However, within the last 6 - 12 months they have really stepped up their game since the launch of the Razer Huntsman/Huntsman Elite and Viper Lineup. All of which have excellent build quality, use great materials, and have very few faulty units. The main complaint with the Viper Ultimate is that the optical clicks feel mushy. Sometimes that is due to defective units. Also, due to the design of the shell. Which they have now rectified with their Razer Viper Mini. Now I still don't think they have quite as strong of clicks as some of the best mechanical switches but they remove the need for a debounce delay which means no double clicks and last longer which I'd trade for. Logitech makes fantastic products. I am a huge fan of theirs and think that overall (looking at their entire mouse lineup) they make better products. But to say they rarely have any faults is incorrect. Double click issues happen often on their mice. Especially, the Logitech G Pro Wireless which I'm specifically looking at in this comparison/review. As the double click issue particularly for the Logitech G Pro Wireless is prolific and one of the worst it has been for any mouse that has come out recently. Which is why that wasn't included. As if you look at faulty units between the two the Viper Ultimate may actually win because people claiming a "defect" of mushy clicks could be intended. Whereas, the double click issue is not. It's still on ongoing issue that they haven't fixed and that mouse came out 2 years ago. Both of these mice are absolutely fantastic. I still love the Logitech G Pro Wireless. A lot of people have brand loyalty to Logitech which has been hard earned. Razer has a lot of people they need to earn the trust back with. Which isn't going to be easy and is only able to be done through making consistent bangers for a long time. Which so far they have been doing and I give them respect for that.
@metyoudnb
@metyoudnb 4 жыл бұрын
@@ThomasMuehler I totally agree with you, Razer has improved a lot over time. But I think that there is still a problem. Even with the Viper's Line-up. G Pro double click steroid is the only known issue mentioned online, but you can't tell the same for the viper... If you check their A.maz.on reviews you will note that Razer is still having troubles with quality control even with the newer lineups. I got my Viper left click stop working after 2 months, while my logitech g9 is still working perfectly after 12yrs.
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
@@metyoudnb Razer and their QA is still a work in process. I won't deny that. However, I'm still not completely convinced that the failure rate with the Viper lineup is all that abnormal compared to other mice. Or at least nearly as bad as some of the people in my comment section are making it seem. As you know all products always have a failure rate of some kind. It inevitable. I've had a lot of people saying that the QA for Logitech G Pro Wireless is dramatically better than the Viper lineup. I figured I’d look a bit more into that than I did originally due to this constantly coming up. I went in with an open mind regarding both mice. I've now read a copious amount of reviews for the Viper Lineup and the Logitech G Pro Wireless. Mainly on Amazon as they have the most reviews. Here is what I found. Most of the negative complaints on the Viper lineup can be attributed to personal preference with nothing actually wrong with the product. I see the same amount of comments about disconnections, battery, it feeling cheap, and scroll wheel issues on both. With it feeling cheap and scroll wheel issues mostly coming down to user preference over defects. For example, the Ultralight 2 scroll wheel is horrible, it’s mushy with very light almost nonexistent steps. But it’s perfectly functional and isn’t a defect. Just not my cup of tea. The Viper has had some defects related to their primary clicks like you experienced. But that doesn’t seem to be all that common. Most people just complain they aren’t as crisp as mechanical. Which is technically personal preference and not a defect. Dock issues also happen but aren’t all that common. I think the main thing that people are experiencing with the disconnects is actually Razer Synapse 3 being a piece of crap. Which it is. It will disconnect and reconnect the mouse (or any other razer peripherals you have) randomly which will make them stop working for a period. They also tie in their junk software into games all the time which means when you boot one up it will try to change the profile. Which will then lock up the device which then will cause it to stop working. So, I think the wireless problems aren’t so much wireless problems and instead are Synapse 3 problems. I’ve actually had drop outs with my G Pro Wireless where I haven’t had any with my Viper Ultimate except when Synapse is being a finicky piece of junk. Which it is at least 50% of the time. The double clicks on the Logitech G Pro Wireless are ridiculously bad. I had no idea it was that bad. It was page after page of 1-star reviews about it. That’s not even including the 2 and 3 stars. Which I would rate to be far bigger of a problem and complete crap QA in comparison to anything that is happening with the Viper mice. Especially since this hasn’t been rectified in two years and is there TOP selling mouse. It is wreaking havoc on their brand integrity. My end conclusion. Is that people like to hate on Razer and like to brag on Logitech because it’s what all the cool kids do. But when looking at the facts. Both have improvements to be made. And if you read to this part you the MVP. Sorry for the rant. That was not my intention. Just figured I’d write out my thoughts.

I would like to ear those thoughts in a "The Better and the Worst" comparasion between these wireless mice. Btw, I've just got a new G Pro and the double click issue seems solved in this batch (or maybe I'm just lucky).

@@ThomasMuehler On the Contrary, my past experience with Razer were fairly good. but this Viper ultimate I have already replaced 3 of them, all have some loose button and rattling sound when you shake it. This is a disgrace, I have a fairly small hand, really love the rubber grip on the Viper but think I'll wait until they have improved their QC.

It doesn't do the best job. As it easily slides off. But I'm sure you could find another one that is cheaper that would work better. I have another one by Lamicoll which is A. Way more affordable and B. Works a lot better but is higher up. Two versions can be found here: (amzn.to/2CsxXGF) and here: (amzn.to/30q015r).

Not a whole lot. It looks pretty, has RGB lighting which makes it look all classy, and then it also charges your mouse and keeps the dongle close to ensure the best performance.

just went from a g pro wireless to a viper ultimate, I would never have done that except my g pro wireless switches started double clicking and much to my disappointment it isn't the first time with a logi mouse for me, had a g903 before that and it did the same, wasn't going to go get another Logitech again, not at these prices, so yeh requested a warranty replacement on the g pro and went and got a viper ultimate. all I can say is the g pro was amazing but the optical switches on the viper shouldn't be overlooked, theres more to it than just speed which you wont notice anyway. the g pro felt smoother in my hand and had better side buttons for me but Im now getting used to the viper and simply wouldn't choose Logitech again in future unless they move away from the trash Omron switches, I really don't know why people list Omron switches as a plus point, they don't get anywhere near the suggested switch life in my experience.
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
I think in the future we will be seeing more optical switches being used. Perhaps in an updated Logitech G Pro Wireless or newer variant. As I know Logitech is aware of the problems with double click. I think that partly stems from their mechanical tensioning system providing crisp clicks also increases the likelihood that one of their mice will develop a double click issue. As your experience with them is not novel. I also think Omron switches are a big deal because they provide a very nice satisfying tactile click. Which optical switches haven't been able to fully perfect. They are getting close as they much improved on the Razer Viper Mini. But lifespan and absence of a double click are critical to the enjoyment of a mouse. Especially, at these prices. But I'm glad you are enjoying the Razer Viper Ultimate. The side buttons take some getting used too. But I've gotten to the point I completely forget that I hated them at first.

I thought I would come back and update, I actually did go back to the logitech g pro wireless, logitech replaced my mouse on warranty and I had the difficult decision of do I now sell that mouse and keep the viper or send viper back and try again with the g pro. I decided to stick with the g pro and send the viper back, I preferred the way the g pro sits in my hand with a slightly higher back, I preferred the side switches by a long way over the viper, I also much prefer the way the main switch feels on the g pro, the viper required a little bit more actuation force and was less snappy and tactile feeling. The viper was a great mouse but where it came short for me the g pro just feels absolutely on point. I have no doubt I may have issues again with the switches but I kind of had to take that chance just for the overall feel for me, I always felt like the viper didn't feel as good. So yeh I went back on what I originally said about never using logitech mice again, they are that good what can I say lol

Well, I just got a G Pro Wireless for £56 in the Amazon Prime Day sale yesterday. I'm kind of kicking myself for not looking to see how much the Razer Viper Ultimate was, but I'm still happy with the deal I got. I kind of like a more obvious side button, so I'm hoping it suits me fine coming from a G903.

@@ThomasMuehler I've just had my first long session with it today (Around 8 hours) and so far I'm really impressed. It feels light coming from my G903 and the shape feels much more natural for my grip (mostly palm). I also really like how the side buttons feel, and they are easy to press. The scroll wheel feels good and is easy to middle click (big problem on the G903), but I wish you could bind side presses of the wheel . My main criticism would be the finish. It made my hand quite sweaty when it was warm earlier in the day. Overall I'm really happy though.

@@JustS0meK1dd Thanks for getting back to me! It is dramatically lighter than your G903 (I think it's like 107 grams compared to 80 grams). Shape is very basic but that's a good thing. Glad you are enjoying the side buttons. Agreed they did a great job with them and the scroll wheel. My first main gaming mouse was the G900 and I was depressed for a long time on how many mice don't have side scroll buttons. Took a long time for me to come to terms with that. lol. Interesting on the coating. I think they could have done a better job. But usually don't hear that it makes it hot and sweaty. Interesting. Again appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

I had someone recently who had 16 by 9 hands say that they preferred the G Pro Wireless because they could palm. Whereas they couldn't as comfortably as the Viper Ultimate. Also, they preferred the side buttons on the GPW compared to the RVU.

I'd really love to buy the RVU, but there are just SO MANY people who have it and many of them say that it has creaky buttons or loose sensor, and I'm just so confused. I love the RVU, but I don't know whether I should buy it or not
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 4 жыл бұрын
I read a bunch of reviews and it came back showing that 4.3% of people had some type of problem with the clicks. With most of those being creaky. I would imagine in real world there is a higher percentage than what reviews are showing. But not by a dramatic amount. As there are plenty of people that A. don't noticing or B. don't caring. But it is an issue. As for the loose sensor I haven't heard of that issue at all. It's also not all rainbows for the G Pro Wireless. 10 - 15% of those mice suffer from double clicks. So, moral of the story is that all gaming mice are going to suffer dramatically in one area. Which is the clicks. As they are the most used portion on the mouse. I wouldn't worry too much about getting a lemon as the majority of users don't for either mouse. Also, that's the whole point of a warranty so if you do have a problem that you can go through the RMA process and get one until you don't have a problem. Assuming you are in a country that is eligible. If you live in the US I would recommend purchasing from Best Buy and buying the Geek Squad Warranty. Which means if anything happens in two years that you just go to the store and they exchange it then and there.
