You've gone nuts. Yo could rip the guts out of lots of things and they'd still work but be inferior. The type of plastic used is plenty strong for a mere keyboard. It's not as though you're going to be pummeling zombies to death with it. There is no reason to make it thinner. There's nothing you'd save space on by stacking it on your keyboard so it's just open air. Plus, it needs to be thicker for decent rubber domes with a good amount of travel instead of the crap they put in notebooks with the short travel scissor-springs. If anything it seems like you need a computer desk upgrade if you can't fit a few inches of keyboard depth or 1cm more height to it. Plus, if you make it thin, even if you use more expensive plastics, it gets weaker, and there will be less depth to catch spills so the circuit sheets are sitting in it. All high quality keyboards are larger. No matter what the materials and design is otherwise, thinner is a downgrade.

That aside I've had this keyboard for about 2 years of very heavy use and still going strong. I'm very conditioned to the bulky formfactor to the point where I favor it over my mechanical keyboard. For the price it does its job. Tbh I forgot it had rgb lol. Anyways hope everybody is doing well. I'm getting a bit stircrazy being stuck inside more than usual. Stay safe

This reminds me of why I built my own keyboard... There is a huge amount of ultra high quality "cookie-cutter" parts being made nowadays that allows you to essentially "build" a keyboard to suit your needs. When I say high quality, it really is ultra high quality stuff. For example, you can get beautiful keyboard cases machined out of billet aluminum, then chose your favorite mechanical switches, and top them off with carbon fiber keyboard keys. You can go nuts and spend $500+ on a keyboard. I built mine with mid tier stuff for about $100-$150 but it really will last decades...

@thecrazy88882 жыл бұрын
You could fold the circuit board underneath the keyboard (externally, cut the case so it goes as far back as possible). Build a shield using a sheet of plastic from a coke bottle for the electronics and flex cables (form the sheet using heat) and use large strips of kapton tape to keep it from moving (remember to cleanup the surface with iso first). Adjust rubber feets for clearance. Fill the hole left from cutting the arm rest with black hot glue (use the oven's glass top to shape the glue, put vaseline first!) then use a variable heat soldering iron to cleanup the finish.

If you've bought this keyboard recently I don't doubt it. Quality has went down hill, they aren't including a braided cord anymore, the rubber on bottom of board doesn't go all the way across like it use to either. Now it moves/slides when gaming because if this. If yours is like this then it's a newer inferior build imo.. Like everything else made these days companies are trying to save 50¢ & charge 200% more.
