Legend. Thanks. One thing.. if you take the black screws off while it is bottom up, the lid just comes off and you will see that your wires are seated in grooves. This way of undoing, when putting back together the same way with all of the little cables in their grooves, will keep you from pinching the cables. Basically when the rig is bottom up just take ALL the screws out (black and silver) at the same time. Thanks for the great cleaning.

Thank you very much for the detailed DIY video tutorial! I used it to clean my G27 pedals which I have for over 7 years now. It was disgustingly dirty inside them. While I did not notice your part 2 video at first, this one has helped just as much! It worked instantly and improved them by a lot, i.e. no more twitching and unwanted movements! There were, however, a few notable differences compared to the G29 pedals shown in this video: - 5:35 this wire is fixed by 2 screws without that plug - 5:45 the pedals have internal markings, i.e. letters A, B and C (accelerator, brake and clutch respectively) - 13:00 brake cylinder does not have these foam thingies inside (just a strong spring) - 39:50 (wire can be clamped into little plastic holders to prevent that issue - the G29 have these as well, you just didn't use them) Amazing result, took me almost 2 hours though but better savely and slowly than irreversibly destroying something accidentally :)

If you're too lazy to take apart the whole potentiometer, you could spray some ispropyl into the potentiometer through the gap. The plus side to this is you don't take apart the pot, meaning you won't offset the housing causing the inputs to get offset. The downside is, it is not a deep clean, it may restore pot functionality, but the dirt may still stay in there.
@nochka84982 ай бұрын
i’ve been cleaning with isopropyl 90% and pour it into the gap of the potentiometer, for 1 hour of using the pedal, the flickering is gone but beyond that, the flickering is back again, so frustrating

@@nochka8498 My brake pedal never needs to be clean. One day I took apart all the pots. Isopropal, deep clean. Then I lube them with sillicone grease. There were no signal issues for a while. Then it came back in all except the brake. I can't remember how much I put on but the grease probably makes a protective layer or something. Silicone grease is non conductive but it probably moves out the way temporarily in use. Your supposedly supposed to use dialectric grease, but im lazy. I suggest lubing the entire thing, not just the contacts. My potentioneters are like, 6+ years old, the plastic housing has worn out, causing the signal range to change.
@_MJ07_Ай бұрын
Yeah it's not really a fix. That's like taking a shower without scrubbing, the dirt is still there. Sure in some circumstances it might help move the dirt, but the dirt will still be in the pot and can cause issues again. If you're going to strip it down this far, you might as well do it properly.

Thanks for this video. Gave me the confidence to take my pedals apart to find where the problems were. I bought a 2nd set of g920 wheel, pedals and shifter. Wheel buttons were activating on turning the wheel to the right. Fixed this by putting electrical cable on the cable in the wheel and on the connector. 2nd problem wasn’t actually a problem but was the design flaw or feature whichever way you want to look at it of a very stiff brake. Fixed by removing the rubber block from inside the piston. 3rd problem was brake activating when I pressed accelerator. Stumped me for a while but fixed by removing rubber sheaf from around all the cables. I stripped it off with a sharp knife intending to search for a break in the cable but accelerator and brake started working after I cut the rubber cable away and traced the cables between accelerator and brake . Don’t know why maybe removed a bend in the cable or a short whilst inspecting the cables between the pedals.

Hi can you please help? I have a problem that as soon as i plug in my pedals the wheel power cuts off and when i unplug them the power returns. This is an electrical issue. I'm not certain if it's the PINS on the wheel where you plug in the pedals OR the wire itself or the contact plugs on the pedals with the red and black (positive and negative wires). Obviously something is shorting out along this relay. Are you able to shed some light or make a short video showing the EXACT cables position where they plug onto that potentiometer on the pedal plate? I'll see if mine were wired wrong or if potentiometer isn't making connection. Thank you kindly.

Hi GT_Raffo, do you know of any replacements. I have done this cleaning procedure a few times now over the past two years with my G29 pedals. Works quite well for a while but eventually the contact surface wears out. I got some 3D printed replacements from Italy (3DRap) but the plastic gears don't look very strong, will see how long they last. Also some identical looking potentiometers arrived from Digi-Key in the US today so I fitted a trial one. They're well made but the input shaft is keyed 180 degrees opposite to the originals so they work in reverse. Will open one up and see if I can "flip" it 180 degrees somehow. I don't understand why Logitech doesn't have a spare parts facility.

Thanks Raffo. This is such a valuable video. I had the problem with the accelerator where it'd fluctuate between 70-100% when fully depressed. This looks like it's solved it. Hey there - my pedals are having issues when I am full throttle, my in-game throttle telemetry shows it twitching between 70% and 100%. Have tried several times with contact cleaner and no results. I have been told by a friend that my potentiometer is probably worn out. It seems to only be the accelerator. I have a secondary set of pedals when I move from Xbox to Playstation. My plan is to switch out my (working) potentiometer from my brake or clutch pedal on my xbox pedals (fyi, the throttle on the xbox pedals have the same issue) and swap it with the throttle potentiometer on my ps pedals.
