Actually the reason for AA batteries vs Lithium internal batteries is actually life span. PS3 controllers for example become harder and harder to find ones where the batteries have not lets say died. Basically turning PS3 controllers into Wired Controllers instead of Wireless just to use them. XBox 360 controllers after all these years are perfectly fine, just replace the batteries. That being said, I don't see a 'gaming' mouse having a long life span like a PS3 or XBox 360 controller. It's hard to find mice now days that are durable enough to last that long.

The lifespan of the battery is a consideration, but only if the device itself is good enough for you to want to use it for many years. I’ve got this Logitech mouse hooked up to my sim rig which means my reliance on a mouse is reduced….but I still don’t like it. It feels so cheap. Logitech make some wonderful mice, but this isn’t one of them.

@@ToughMonkey To me all mice feel cheap when compared to much older mice personally. I bought a Razor Deathadder Pro a year ago and the mouse wheel when scrolling doesn't function right anymore. Everything else seems to be working fine. I also hate how it's DPI button is on the bottom of the mouse instead of acting as a 6th programmable button on top. Dunno why Razor decided to do that but. So I've been gaming with one less button. Normally for me the mouse 3 button wears out I've never had the scroll wheel function wear out before. Looking up users with the same brand seems Razor has an issue with this as well as a number of people have the same problem. But personally I've not found a mouse that doesn't feel cheap that is in a medium price range sadly. Personally, I seem to have better luck with office mice than gaming mice when it comes life spans which is ironic. Similar to chairs, office chairs are often far better than gamer chairs for lower prices as well. I've bought a number of Logitech gaming mice from cheap to mildly expensive and I've been disappointed every time. So I went Razor this time, only to again be disappointed. Honestly think old Dell Mice that came with PCs last longer than this. Razor actually broke faster than the old cheap G203 I had which would cost me $18 bucks at walmart. lol I actually ordered a G309 a week ago, but It's not arrived yet. I actually saw a user review the G309 who took it apart and actually gave it a reasonable review for what it was. It's actually a better mouse than the G305 that many compare it to. At least according to him. His only complaint was that it does have some pointless tech, like the Powerplay functionality, and Bluetooth which are both very situational. But even if those were removed it's still a better mouse than it's predecessor the G305. HIs conclusion is the G305 is still on the market and much cheaper, so Logitech decided to make a more general use mouse that would appeal to a wider audience, ie say someone who will take the mouse with them to work, etc. Because some of it's functionality is more suitable for office work than gaming. I think it's actually the issue. That it isn't a successor to the G305 and it was likely never meant to be.

personally id say the older logitech mouses are better quality then these new ones logitech sell i.e superlight 2 , some pretty poor reviews of logitechs new mouses! i have gone back to my logitech g603 as i the connection is way better then a razer mouse i bought a while back! i like replaceable batteries in mice as apposed to inbuilt ones , what happens when that internal battery fails or just loses its charge , you gotta buy a new mouse!

The only real issue I have is that internal batteries have a habit of dying on you at the least opportune time, and then you've got to connect it to a USB charging cable to rejuice. My older rechargeable mice used to come with little docks you parked them in when you'd finished working, so the mouse would always charge over night.

How is the scroll wheel?
@ToughMonkeyАй бұрын
I would say it’s fair generic. It’s got a grippy rubber coating so finger slip is all but eliminated, which makes it better for gaming than the two mice I use daily for my home and work computers. It has a mid-level sound to the rolling of the wheel. It’s not clicky like my Logitech MX Master but also not silent like my JLab. There’s a subtle haptic to it as you scroll the wheel so you know you’re making positive contact. It’s been sat in my drawer since the review as I’m not overly fond of how light it is, but I’ve got a sim rig arriving soon so I’m going to pair it with that as you only occasionally need a mouse input with that.
