That blue thing is a supercapacitor not a resistor. Likely to smooth the power delivery and power the mouse for liftoff from the power play mat like you said. Supercaps would be a great way to power a mouse because they charge almost instantly.

I don't even understand the point of reducing weight. I've used all kinds of mice and never really had issues based on weight. I honestly think the whole "it's too heavy" idea is a placebo effect in conjunction with the woozle effect. I use AA wireless mice all the time at home and work and never really had much issues over the years. I currently have my first Lithium battery mouse and I honestly just don't notice a serious difference once my mind is focused on a game or task over when I used a AA battery mouse that weighed more.

Wassup, man! Im in the way to make custom 3d printed fingertip mice. Can you please sugest some cheap mice that have a small pcb that could fit (in size) a shell with the m2k or hsk shape? Thanks! And another question, if isnt much: there is another mice that has a pcb like the g pro x superlight? Need one for a project, but just dont wanna destroy a $160 mice 😅 Huge thanks!
