I do not think the thickness would be bad to me it feels like it would be safer if it is dropped. Having the trackpad on the keyboard is great. And you are right not having a built in battery is a big plus.
@mp35454 жыл бұрын
Not having a separate battery to charge is one of the reasons why I’ve loved the first party Smart Keyboard with my 2017 model (along with being super thin and light and not needing to wait for bluetooth to pair). One thing that I’m concerned about with this keyboard and the upcoming Magic Keyboard is that the addition of backlighting will not only require the keyboard to be thicker, but will require the keyboard to sap more power from the iPad itself and reduce screen-on time. I’m curious to see how much of an issue that actually turns out to be. The whole thing with people complaining about backlighting never made sense to me. It’s 2020. Doesn’t everyone know how to touch type at this point anyway?
@MatejaMaric4 жыл бұрын
Free C&Rsenal You can always just turn if the backlighting off battery life is a concern. Back in the day you had touch typing classes in school, so I actually think the amount of people that know how to touch type today is lower than ever. I know I still need it...

I own an iPad Pro 10.5 and just received this today. It is thick and it add significant weight to this ipad. You can easily hit somebody over the head with it and probably knock them unconscious. It will break someone’s wrist if they tried to punch it. It will stop a bullet. With that said, I like it. I like the keys I’m typing on now. It doesn’t feel cheap at all. It is a solid piece for sure. I like detaching the keyboard and all. I like the track pad. I’m keeping it.

This is potentially the best keyboard case since Logitech’s Create Folio Slim for the 9.7” iPad Pro! Smart connector is back finally. I hope they make a similar smart connector keyboard for the 11” iPad Pro 2018 and 2020. The top row of function keys are so useful compared to the not having them on the standard apple keyboards for iPads

Wow, and I almost bought the Brydge 10.5 keyboard and a Magic Mouse. This Logitech keyboard is pretty slick. However, I love the look of the Brydge and I enjoy the experience of using a dedicated mouse. Despite what others say about the Brydge, I think it’s awesome and I can get around the lack of protection for my Air 3. But man, I have to seriously consider this Logitech set-up. It would be cheaper. Even if I got the Logitech, I would still get a Magic Mouse because, well, I want to! 🙂
@AC-pf1ne4 жыл бұрын
I like that they added the texture to the keyboard and Case, it helps you to grip it better when carrying. If it was slick it would be a bar of soap. Also, the thickness for school feels more like a laptop. It has some beef to it. Love it! Even though it has a magnetic closure, it would be nice if it had one more layer of protection and that's a some kind of small velcro closure added to keep it from opening if it does hit the ground.

I purchased mine for iPad Air 3. I love it, not thick and I enjoy the function keys. The trackpad works great.. I recommend it for iPad 7 or iPad Air 3 users
@rc22574 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's a bit thick for me. But there's a place for thick cases in the market: some people prefer having the extra protection. The Apple Smart Keyboard for iPad Air and 10.5" iPad Pro is very thin and light. You can even add a third-party back cover that's compatible with it, and it's still quite thin and light. The point is, it's good that there are options for people who prefer thin & light and others who value the extra protection of a thicker case.
@netquake4 жыл бұрын
Hi! I must confess I have been long waiting for this case to be on the market in order to use it with my iPad Air (3rd generation). Right now, I got some doubts due to the thickness of it. Being as thick as two stacked iPhones seems a bit too much if you plan to carry the iPad around with you everyday. Another concern that I have and which you haven't touch in your video regards to the use of the Apple Pencil when the case is flatten on top of a table. Is it 100% stable or does it wiggle when pressing down the screen with the Apple Pencil (or the weight of your palm/arm) when writing or drawing? I would love to hear your personal experience about that, and if possible make an edit to the video to demonstrate just that! Thank you so much!

Received mine on Friday the 18th. Only problem was I accidentally order the iPad Air version so the cut outs didn’t match the gen 7. I was able to try it out however and it seem to be a pretty solid keyboard case. Was a bit bulky and heavy, but overall I thought it was good. I bout a Logitech crayon which I didn’t want to force it to the pencil holder. got the crayon for $35 new so that was the reason I purchased it, probably should have gotten the Apple Pencil to accompany this case. The correct model of the keyboard arrives this Wed, so I’ll have a better review to post add that time. Good vid. Thank you for the content.
@DonnydeOlim4 жыл бұрын
Since the moment I saw the option to use a trackpad with an iPad, I really thought about buying something like this Logitech Combo Touch, BUT for me this case thickness is TOO MUCH! In fact, for years of experience and use, is a lot more difficult for me to accidentally drop an iPad than something smaller, like an iPhone... so a case this thickness is just a waste. But it is a shame, because I think the keyboard is really great by itself. I would like to ask you, Aaron, can you forsee the possibility to use this Logitech keyboard with an iPad protected by another kind of case? Something a bit more slim/thin??? I know, I know, you will need some kind of support to maintain the iPad in a useful position or angle... but what could be the combination options out there? I have a 2018 iPad Air 3rd generation waiting for a keyboard and trackpad.

In my opinion, this sounds way better than the official magic keyboard. It's backlit, has all the trackpad gestures, you can detach the keyboard and still have a cover, and the hinge gives you way more view angles to work. Plus, I love this fabric gesture. It's a shame I have a 9,7 iPad Pro and it won't cover my iPad. Otherwise I'd definitely buy this one over all the others I've seen so far.

Take a look at the Logitech K480 for $45 ! It supports all of the iPads as well as 3 different machines across all the OS's at the same time. I have to use 3 systems, a Win10, iPad and an old VISTA compute server. With a flip of the switch a single keyboard supports all three and I take two keyboards off my desk. Plus ... it has a nicer keyboard. There is a slot to give the iPad lift if you find it necessary ... I like the "S Shaped" stand. Yes the keyboard uses batteries ... but I've used the same set of AAA's for 6 months. And ... it is $100 cheaper by the same manufacturer.

An even better Logitech option, for the budget-oriented, would be to get logitech's k380 keyboard and the Logitech Pebble mouse. Grand total of $60. And then for another $50 get their Logitech Crayon. So for $110 you have a mouse, keyboard, and pencil. That's at least what I did. I will say that this keyboard/trackpad option from Logitech you reviewed is at least reasonably priced for its segment. I think it provides a great value too. Thank you for the review!

Received this today (Air 3 version). Awesome product! The only dings I could possibly give it are: 1) Weight/bulk: It is heavy and thick! That’s not an issue for me...but something to note. 2) The combination of detachable keyboard and kickstand make using on the lap precarious! I was using it on the deck tonight on my lap to type and it flipped over backwards, detached and the ipad hit the deck. Unharmed:). But, something to note...this “balancing” takes some getting used to.

Can we use apple smart cover instead of the keyboard with the case? Like if you don’t need the keyboard and want to carry the ipad as a tablet. The swap with the keyboard if you need the ipad as a laptop.

Is the pencil holder secure enough? I am worried that the Apple Pencil might fall out.

Zollotech your videos are awesome, and I actually learned what those three buttons (pogo pens) are. I plan on purchasing one, possibly two keyboards this month.
