How to troubleshoot G923/G29/G920 for Connection Issue

This video will guide you through troubleshooting your G923/G920/G29 in 4 steps ranging from beginner to advanced. Each troubleshooting step is available below for quick access.
Step 1 - It is a quick hands on to help identify and diagnose if the wheel is receiving the appropriate amount of power.
Step 2 - Involves using G HUB to validate that the wheel is properly connected to your pc, and that your inputs are being received. In this advanced continuation of Step 2, we identify if the wheel is actually visible in the Windows native controller module and ensure that all of the buttons are working properly.
Step 3 - Steam setup; Please note this step is no longer necessary as Steam no longer detects wheel in this fashion.
Step 4- This is to help resolve Wheel and Pedal Calibration Issues and a blank test page in Windows Controller Properties. This step is considered advanced as this involves working directly within the registry. Please double check your work before making any changes.

Bought a G29 a year ago. Stopped powering on in 3 days. Went back to my G25. Just bought another one, rotation locked at 20deg in sim. put the plug in more, i thought mine broke, the light was on and stuff, just plug in the plug harder not the usb, and if it doesn’t work it means ur plug is blown out from it being plugged in overnight so find another plug to put it in.

So what I needed to do was unplug everything from my outlet (except the one below, for context I had an 2*3 adapter for a 2 plug outlet) and it worked just fine after. I had been searching for months prior and I was on the verge of selling it but all it needed was its own outlet. BUT, some outlets have less than 120V, It says this thing only uses 30V but it has to have 120V, kinda weird but whatever. So if that doesn’t work then try a new outlet, your outlet may also have some issues so another good reason. make sure you plugged in all three cords (four for shifter if you have it) to the WHEEL

Unplugged my power cable, closed GHUB and plugged it back in, made sure there were no driver updates in device manager then when I reopened GHUB it was recognizing just fine!

I had an issue where Force feedback was not working as intended in games and the throttle were recognized as an axis instead of a pedal in control scheme mapping. For your issues i suggest you check the power supply or try installing an older version of Ghub.

Thank you so much! I just got a 923 with a DriveForce Shifter but cannot get the shifter to show in iRacing or AC. When I check the controller mapping (joy.cpl), the shifter is showing up from Buttons 12-18 (R-6). Interestingly, the clutch is recognized along with the other pedals so I can use it if I choose.

Hopefully this question gets answered so, I have a g920 and i use it on my xbox series s it works on the xbox but, when i go into any game for some reason it doesnt read as a controller. Ive tried to play f1 21, forza, gta all as soon as i disconnect my actual controller and try to use the wheel it wont read as a controller and i cant use it in game only on the xbox system

Deleted the G29 in regedit - didn't came up after plug-unplug XD It worked earlier, but now wheel don't calibrate itself, G hub sees it, turning wheel doesn't affect the g hub, only if pressing pedals, it's just flashing on top and do not react :(

hello logitech support. My G29 steering wheel after downloading a firmware update from Ghub is showing a failure can you help? If set to 900 degrees on the Ghub it is not in the zero position of the calibration menu. It displays values ​​between -2 and 2 degrees when centered. If set to 180 degrees, the calibration menu displays zero (0) position normally. despite this fault, the steering wheel calibrates perfectly and is not losing center in the games I use. (euro truck) I believe it does not have a physical defect because it does not present centering faults, only the Ghub calibration menu presents this error.

@@dk9469 I still haven't found a solution. I opened the ticket with logitech passed me some procedures to install and uninstall delete folders but it did not work. I'm waiting for new support steps. If there is a solution I will come back and comment. I think they should make a firmware fix available, this bug (problem) started after the update.

I went through steps 1-4, deleted the steering wheel in the registry, and plugged it back in only to find the same issue. When I have my wheel plugged in, the y, rsb, and lsb button, as well as the dpad, shifter paddles and gear shifter aren't registered in the joy.c thing. The wheel axis and pedals are seen, as well as the as the a, b, and x buttons. Any idea how to fix this? I made sure all my power cables were connected well too. Also, when I open the windows start tab with the wheel plugged in, it scrolls up uncontrollably if that helps diagnose the issue.

i have a 923 for 2-3 years, i almost ALWAYS have a problem with the wheel after Ghub gets an update. precisly playing Assetto Corsa Competizionne more often. i always have to fight with the device to make it work again, unplug, plug it do not work all the time. Right now the wheel FFB literally started glitching mid race and crashed my car (never happenned before). I though my wheel was 100% broken this time since i tried all my other methods to fix it usually. But nothing worked. Ghub was not even connecting the wheel, no power lights either. BUT when i deleted the wheel registry like you mentionned, it worked again finally !! (at least for now) ok thank you for a video on information to fix some trouble, but how about you stop breaking everything with each updates ? i have never had that much trouble with a USB device in my life. Worst experience

I had the same issue, this is what I did to fix it: After deleting the registry, unplug your wheel's USB cable from the computer, made sure I had the switch on the top of the wheel set to PS4 (I had it on PS3), then plug the wheel's USB cable back into the computer. Problem solved for me. Hope this helps.

It detected my PlayStation G29 wheel on PC with shifter. I'm turning it, but it doesn't turn in Logitech G Hub. The pedals also do not react in G Hub, as so the shifter. READ ALL, I FOUND A POTENTIAL FIX- I fixed it. So what I needed to do was unplug everything from my outlet (except the one below, for context I had an 2*3 adapter for a 2 plug outlet) and it worked just fine after. I had been searching for months prior and I was on the verge of selling it but all it needed was its own outlet. BUT, some outlets have less than 120V, It says this thing only uses 30V but it has to have 120V, kinda weird but whatever. So if that doesn’t work then try a new outlet, your outlet may also have some issues so another good reason. be sure that you have all three cords plugged into the wheel four cords if you have a shifter.

Is there a softer progressive Spring for the g923 Brake? The original Spring is just to hard and bend my Rig if i need to brake 100% What Force does the original Spring have? Mybe i find a softer by myself.

there’s a way that you can change that you’re gonna have to do some physical things rather than with computers, but what you can do is, you can take a screwdriver unscrew the bottom part there’s actually some tutorials on it but there’s a little rubber piece inside of the brake pedalinside of the piston and it basically the top of the piston hits the rubber thing and stops it from moving any further. I took it out as the first thing I did.

So if I have that blinking white light and the wheel is connected to the computer (showing in GHUB), it's a power issue? The brick is plugged in and the cable is plugged into the wheel. Is my power brick dead? Been using the wheel successfully for over a year, and suddenly today it is just blinking and doesn't move or calibrate. Tried reinstalling drivers, software, etc.

The very last step instructs to verify that your controller shows up when you refresh the registry but doesn't tell us what to do if it doesn't show up. Why ask us to verify that it shows up if you offer no further instruction on what to do if it doesn't show up? What do I do if my controller does not show up after refreshing registry editor?

My G923 Xbox version is not showing on the game controllers section or on g hub .. and in the registry editor I don't see the C62E folder. The wheel calibrates when I plug it in, and when I delete the drivers for xbox game controller and press the xbox button it does recalibrate and reinstall the drivers ... But I can't use the wheel

TY ! I deleted some of the remaining traces of Logitech G29 wheel and everything worked properly. Its from other games messing with it or plugging the wheel in another usb port.Before it was messed AF 😂

In the registry I can see the entry for G920, instead of g923, GHUB does not recognize my G923 and neither does my computer, it even does not play any sound when connecting the steering wheel. Any suggestion about how to remediate this?

Didn't work for me. Doesn't show up anything on the test page, even if I deleted the regedit files. Even if I set operating range to 360 degrees, I have to rotate it full 450 degrees to one side for it to rotate 180 in the software. Tried to open a ticket, but only found live chat where I waited for an hour for no one to help me.

Having issues with the G923/PS5/Snowrunner, The G923 Loses communication with the PS5 when going back to the main menu, or randomly during game play loading screens* in order to make it work, i Have to Log out and back in with the G923 and it works again... is this normal, please help, any solution to this? So I went into the back panel to take the rubber piece out from the brake, Sealed the back on, fastened the screws and now the G Hub cant detect the wheel when I plug in the pedals. Also when I plug in the pedals the entire wheel base starts to vibrate a little and gives off a slight humming sound. Any known fixes for that or is it just finished? Didn't mess with the cords or anything either.

The buttons on the g29 steering wheel only work when I turn the steering wheel to the left. In the gamepad test window (win11), if I press x when the steering wheel is straight, it presses multiple buttons.

Question, when I go to general control settings for steam, it says no controllers detected. Everything else seems to be working besides that. I tried to do big picture configuration and plugged in my steering wheel and it just sat there loading and nothing happened. Please help. (I have a G29)

Let me start by saying that I bought a G923 xbox version in a renowned electronics store, I plug it in and connect it to the computer (Win10) starting the usual calibration by turning on all the LEDs but after that it is not detected by Ghub so I try to do all the steps listed in the video up to 4, where I discovered that I had "C262" as a code in the registers instead of "C26E" and it's strange, after deleting the folder and reconnecting the steering wheel with the usual calibration, I noticed that a new one was not created (folder on registers)...... checking the steering wheel box better I noticed that it is a "G923 SE" but I can't find much around about this model, i try on my laptop with win 11 and instantly recognize it. Any ideas?

Hey, my g29 works fine when plugged in the computer directly, but whenever I plug it in a usb extender or even a usb over ethernet extender it doesn't. I can see the wheel spinning when I plug it, and I can see it in devices and printers, but it's not showing as a game controller. It's not visible in usb game controllers nor in ghub. When I triy to delete the C24F entry in regedit, it doesn't recreate itself when plugged in the extension, but it does as soon as I plug directly in the pc

@@Im_irish-ly3rp Glad it helped I ended up ordering a shorter usb 2.0 extender (16ft active) instead of the 32ft one I had. That magically worked. I contacted logitech support twice in the process. My dog was more useful than them

Thank you! Red flag for me - the wheel stopped working even though LED is flashing and buttons work/device is recognized. It doesn't spin and doesn't "calibrate" when plugged in any outlet. Games or Logitech app don't recognize spin at all. Sounds like power adapter died or cords or something power related in the wheel itself. Sent it back for a replacement.
