Recumbent Trike Tour, Cades Cove, TN 2014-05-07

With David & Julie and Jim & Julie, all from Michigan still in the area, it was decided to tour Cades Cove for the 1st vehicle-free (until 10:00am) cycling morning of the year. And even though we didn't finish our loop ride until well after 10:00, we were finished by the time the 1st car appeared.
Paul had to hustle through his ride because of being scheduled for work later in the morning, so the group pretty much hung with him until late in the ride. In doing so however, they had already passed before I stopped to capture views of a coyote and some of deer, so viewing this video will enable them to see the ride from a different perspective.
I don't normally meander as much as I did this day; my original reasoning was to document the experience for the visitors. But ya know something, I saw more than usual! Hope you will as well!

Shoes? Ones that fit your feet, budget and taste in styling (in that order. As for cleats (that 'clip'!), Shimano SPD are pretty much a 'standard' but I prefer Crank Bros; I think I just like the name! Thanks for watching.

Clay, this portion of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has the Cades Cove loop ride on the 11-mile road. Essentially, it's a narrow one-way paved road closed to vehicle traffic on Wednesday & Saturday mornings during th Summer so walkers and cyclists can enjoy the peacefulness at a leisurely pace.

ITS illegal to park your car so that you have to reverse to get out ! ITS common SENSE to reverse your car in then driving forward to leave , why ? so you can see !!! ,and less of us can be squashed!!!!..
