LOGO REVEAL ANIMATION CINEMA 4D TUTORIAL

If there is a sexy part of cinema 4D it has to be the Cinema 4D dynamics!
Harnessing Dynamics with the Mograph Effectors is a great way to bring your concepts to life and to let Cinema 4D do a lot of the heavy lifting.
I created a logo reveal for a company called Cornerstone Paving where we were able to utilise these effectors with the dynamics to create a fun engaging piece really quickly.
So I'm going to break down a few of the shots from the logo reveal to give you a basic understanding of these tools.
Let's take a look and then jump straight in!

Had to rewatch this a few times to catch this. 4:24 Group the Objects with the null, zero out coordinates THEN delete the null so the shader interacts with all objects. Cant wait to see more from you!

Need help everyone: I have tried this tutorial with a real logo converted into polygon objects, but the shader doesn't work at all, just duplicates objects and messes them up. Is it because shader works with editable objects better than polygon objects?

4:13 you grouped 4 cubes into a null and didn't explain ether A. How you did that (no shortcut key mentioned), and B. how you zeroed them out. 5:32 You set follow position and rotation to 10 and 50 respectively, but never explained the purpose of those two functions. 6:02 Was confusing because without knowing, if your cubes are not in the same order as yours it doesn't work. Making a point about how the effector is applied, and what to look out for would have been useful here. 6:48 You changed the global scale of the noise shader, but never explained why or what it does. 6:55 You never mentioned what animation speed does. 7:05 You turned off the shader effector that changed the color of the object to not change the color. Back when you changed the global scale, and didn't explain what it did, a typical user might just press play after turning that function on and notice the color change, but you've just disabled that here, making the step before changing the global scale of the noise shader, making that option a confusing step that didn't teach anyone anything. 11:40 A sudden "connect" array object appeared with no commentary on how it got there, the shader and random effector disappeared. 14:05 Kind of saddened that this tutorial started out as if we were going to create the video shown at the beginning but instead it was something completely different, and then instead of doing that, the video jumps to an entirely different animation that is also emulated, not replicated. 14:13 You say to pull the connect out of the fracture but never once say what it does, and frankly, as someone who doesn't know, when I put it in I wasn't getting the same results as you, so I never put it in, but now I'm told to take something out I was never told to put in. 14:31 Started messing with a bunch of values without explaining them. 15:32 Just like 10 minutes ago at 5:32, you adjusted these values without explaining what they are. It's like yeah it doesn't fall now but those values must mean something.. 18:11 Turns out the backdrop served no purpose in this video. Overall good tutorial but a bit frustrating that we didn't create the things shown.
