You do SUCH a good job of not assuming that people already know certain things. You explain it just in case. As a beginner, this is so comforting. Thank you!

Great video, a few workflow tips. 1. ctrl-shift-a to select none. 2. Instead of making two rects/circles, you can use select-shrink to clear the inside of a selection. It also allows you to control the size of the border with pixel precision.

Afternoon Nick, I use Gimp all the time and love it.. I mainly create logos for youtube, websites and such - But I have a client that will want to blow up the image that I create to put on the side of a van, what err the optimum setting for bearing this in mind? I am using 600.00x600.00 8-bit @ 1200x1200 workspace.. Can you advise please?
@LogosByNick3 жыл бұрын
As large as possible. At least 1,920 pixels for the largest dimension. The better solution would be to create the logo in vectors though because then it can be scaled up infinitely.

It's impressive that you can do it (and have patience) in Gimp, but I would encourage people to do this kind of jobs in vectors - let's say in Inkscape.
