ਸਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੋਹੜੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਓਹਾਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਲਹਿੰਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਤਿਓਹਾਰ ਗੁਆਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਿਓਹਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਰਵਾਇਤਾਂ ਲਹਿੰਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਗਾਇਬ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ। ਦੁੱਲਾ ਭੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਜੱਦੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਣ ਇੱਕ ਬੁੱਤ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਦਾ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਆਖਿਰ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ’ਚ ਲੋਹੜੀ ਦੇ ਤਿਓਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਿਉਂ ਗੁਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ?

As a 10-year-old boy, when we went out on Lohri in Jammu City, we used to find two men dressed as Dulla Bhatti and his beloved, portraying the legendary lovers. Kids went house to house singing Lohri and collecting candy and money. And there was this Chajja that young men created spending days, a beautiful peacock in a dancing position, a drummer and the community boys danced all over the city displaying their artistic Chajja. We just recently discovered that people are calling it a Hindu festival.

BHATTI RAJPUT are the most bravest RAJPUT in Punjab, BHATTI is an Sanskrit word means solider in English , and ASKRI in Arabic and SPAHI in farsi, they basically comes from RAJSTAN JAISALMAIR, when MOHAMMAD TUGLAK deafened them , but before that they comes from GUJRAT, their league comes from the elder son of BHAGWAN KRISHNA named PARDUMAN, we have lots of BHATTI in RAJSTAN and Punjab, even MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH was also BHATTI RAJPUT whose family migrated from RAJSTAN, although they were called SAHSI etymologically means BRAVE , DULLA BHATTI was the PUNJABI HERO , all Punjabi on both side love him and respect him .
