Welcome everyone to Morgaine Mondays! Today's video is this magical midnight meadow scene, under a bright full moon.
Equipment list: today I'm using Arches rough watercolour paper, 100% cotton, weight 140lb/300gsm, size 23cm x 31cm / 9 inches x 12 inches. My colours today are: Indigo, Ultramarine Pink, Permanent Yellow, & White Gouache. The brushes I use today are: a Daler Rowney Aquafine Skyflow flat 2 inch wash brush; a Willow Wolfe Callia 3/4inch Top Mop synthetic brush; an Escoda Ultimo synthetic mop brush size 10; a Princeton Neptune round size 4; a Pro Arte Sword Liner size Small; and a Daler Rowney Aquafine fan size 2. I also use a 5p coin to stamp the moon, and some Pebeo brand masking fluid/drawing gum.
Thank you all for watching, I really hope you enjoyed this video! I loved painting this piece, it felt like it had a little bit of magic in it. Wishing you all a wonderful week, and happy painting!

Good Lord, what a dynamic duo you two are! It’s the first time I’ve watched one of your videos, Morgaine and this is just perfect for me since I love this kind of fantasy-like painting. You and your mom are such great painters, and I am so glad I stumbled upon one of her videos which led me to both of you! Thank you so much for all the sharing you do and the love you spread around through your beautiful art ❤. Art of the Heart, for sure! Blessings on you both 😊

What would have looked a natural, but lifeless scene, truly burst into life with the addition of a bit of pink. Like an image for Avatar, the scope for allowing imagination flow freely is vast. I would say a world of possibilities issue fort for the mind to tell it's own stories. But I'd rather drop the word 'world' for universe. All from a bit of pink !! Amazing. Our next door neighbours have snow drops just reaching they're pinnacle, (a bit late!!) and there was a point in the video, as you started placing stalk in the bottom right hand side, that I thought I was to be looking right at snowdrops in the making But in summer time. A reality check soon woke me up... Even though from this very channel a vid on snowdrops came to us just a short while back. Seeing the salt take on a life of it's own was totally fascinating. Akin to something from a science lab. But gorgeous non-the -less. Alas, I find no dragons here.😄😄. Dear old ST. George will be redundant.. Thanks Morgaine, as special as ever. Bless you sweet lady. TTFN

Dear morgaine, what a result !! Each painting will be different and that is why I too like using salt. I think this would be great as an underwater reef scene ☺️ I love the wet on wet results, and the gouache really enhances that moonlight scene 😍 and with a full moon like yours you would definitely light up the top of that hill 👍😊

I love it! Cpu.d you tell me what brand of watercolour your ultramarine pink is, please? I usually use Cotman watercolour but I don’t think they have this colour? Thanks so much 😊

This ultramarine pink is one I make myself! 😊 I buy the pigment online and make small batch watercolour paints, and what I don’t use I sell; I don’t have any currently available, but when I have paints spare I put them in my Etsy shop. 😊 But I do believe that Daler Rowney or Jackson’s have ultramarine pink in their range! 💖
