That actually is a baitcaster but it's for saltwater giving the size. Those are normally used for "jigging" off the side of a boat in the ocean

the reel he was using was a baitcaster, but the ones used for jigging are typically conventional reels, slightly different and not meant to cast

LOJO what you bought was a saltwater jigging reel used for fishing water from 30-300m deep the reason they have a long handle is to help crank fish from the deep that reel holds around 200m of 30lb braid so it would be used for fish from 10lb to 60lb

Hey lojo, that's a conventional reel it's made for jigging straight up and down in the ocean off the bottom. It's called slow pitch jigging. It's not meant to be casted. LOL you caught your Peavey bass on a real that someone probably expected to catch their PB amberjack on but it's still very awesome!!

@@lojofishing they have been selling some Googan stuff in Ollies Outlet here in Baltimore and I love the clutch and the mini clutch Striped Bass and Northern Snakeheads demolish them. Also got this enormous chatterbait/shakeyhead thing I never seen you use. Its great through thick grass and weeds which our rivers have a ton of but it makes so much commotion I feel like it scares everything away. I would love to have the opportunity to catch some largemouth like you guys do. Im 41 years old and just caught my first largemouth like a month ago , everyone thought I was a idiot for how excited I was but you just dont catch them much where I am. All the local waterways are trashed and are right on the chesapeake bay so shouldnt hav to say much more. Was curious what other lures do u think would be good for my region. Im literally in Baltimore county. Kinda urban ghetto area ,dirty weedy bank fishing situations. And topwater is nearly non existant hre

@@BmoreJasonT Try a weightless/weedless (texposed) rigging on a white fluke. Also, I would recommend trying out about anything on a dropshot setup but 4.5" straight tail robo-worms work great and so do 13 fishing rabbit ear tails 4.5" and 5.5". The more you throw it, the more you'll figure out what presentation works best to start getting fish. Put in the time and they will come. Black, Blue, and White are all colors that should generate bites for you. Doesn't matter if you are in the city. All of our gross city park ponds here in SoCal have tons of bass, some huge, some not.

Ryobi and Temu should brag about you catching your PB on a salt water reel made for just dropping down off the side of a boat. That thing wasn't made for casting. It was made for dropping baits with massive lead waits off the side of a boat in the ocean. Hence the 70lb drag.

Congrats Lojo ! my pb is 10. 75lbs from a farm pond in Iowa, I have about 8 baitcast reels from temu and just ordered 4 more yesterday they are every bit as good as say a Abu Garcia black max or Max reel they perform as well as any $100 reel.
