Happy to see that guys who are new to fishing are not falling for clout traps and spending their entire paychecks on useless tackle. I've been fishing for 15 years now and in my bag I have 3 smaller boxes, one for soft plastics, one for my inline spinners and one for crankbaits. I mainly target pike and walleye so I kind of cringed a little when I saw your pliers because I use really long needle nose pliers but that's because I'm not fishing out a lure out of 10lb pike's mouth with my bare hands. For something to cut your line with, I would recommend just some nail clippers. They cut way easier than scissors, are inexpensive and can fit any pocket. Another thing is that I like to color sort my soft plastics because I've had experiences with one plastic leaking color (pigment) and coloring others but it seems that most manufacturers caught up to that and solved or minimised that problem. Rod and reel I started out was a cheap combo my dad bought on flea market when I was 6, it was a complete missmatch, 6ft rod and 5000 size chinese reel, so heavy and bulky on a small rod but I caught many fish with it and won many tournaments and now I can afford my own gear.

Just getting back to bait casting after more than 20 years. I pulled together a couple boxes of lures and with the exception of a couple new topwater lures, everything in my box is between 20 and 50+ years old. And, my lures all still work, sometimes better than the newer stuff. So yeah, dont think you cant go retro, that old stuff you got from your parents or grandparents is back in style now.

Love the video and I thought I had to share I have been fishing a week and caught a 10 pound bass yesterday.

That is crazy man!! Super awesome! My personal best is just under 6 pounds. A ten pounder is the bass of a lifetime!

I recommend getting some guppyhead jig heads and some small swim baits like 2.8 size I always give the kids small swimbaits...they always work
@JVBfishing23 күн бұрын
That makes a lot of sense as well. I know small swimbaits are also great for multi-species fishing.
