I'm very very very glad that Juri made her korean debut in Woolim. At first I have no interest in their group because of their name which seems like a group that do childish and only aegyo song. But then my sister keep playing their song and it makes me wonder how is it because my sister's standard is very high. And I tapped on their performance video and saw Juri and I was very speechless because my sister did not informed me about her (we're pd's loyal viewer btw). And I just can't believe it until now and it makes me very happy to see her enjoy her journey as kpop idol. I'm also glad that she debuted under woolim because woolim doesn't have much scandals and issues despite its popularity. And Juri didn't have to struggle under a lot of pressures and burdens if she ever debuted under SM, YG or JYP. I'm just very happy. Juri is one of my japanese pick in pd48. But 48g is still necessary for they polishing their experience on stage, creating character and variety... Korean agencies is like final polishing before debut...

むしろ朱里有りきでグループを作った気がします。PRODUCE48に出てた他の２人を中心にグループを作るってのは考えにくいような。出演時間めちゃ少なかったですしインパクトは残せなかった感じですし。Rocket Punchでパフォーマンスをしてるのを見て魅力を知った人が多いような。IZ*ONEにチェウォンやウンビが選ばれてなかったらウリムは当然彼女達有り気でグループ作ってた気もしますが。それはそれで成功したでしょうけど。どちらにしても彼女が入るから落ちたって子はいないような。どうしてもいれてたいなら７人組にしても良かったわけでしょうし。

Juri was funny here without being fluent in Korean. You can imagine how much funnier she’s going to be when she does become fluent. But I’m surprised how she learn so much Korean in just 4 months. She speaks it much better than IZ*ONE’s Jline when they were in their 4 months of learning Korean. You can see this especially when she was doing the tongue twister speed reading test in this episode. Let’s keep winning RCPC!!!

Ongniel is Science Honestly, that’s actually a much better way to learn a language. People actually learn faster when they’re placed into an environment where they’re forced to learn it rather than learning it casually through lessons. It’s the reason why Nako knew more advanced words back then than Juri does now. But the difference is that Juri knows how to make complete sentences while they sort of struggled to do that. But then again, some people just learn faster than others as well. But I would say that Juri is picking up Korean faster simply because she’s the only Japanese member in the group and so she’s forced to speak Korean no matter what since the other members don’t know any Japanese. IZONE had members who knew Japanese and they sort of went back and forth with Korean and Japanese. But now, since the Jline decided to speak in Korean 100% even amongst themselves, they should be learning it faster as well now.

james actually according to Yeonhee, the members themselves are learning Japanese right now. So if Juri has trouble, the members can switch to Japanese to help but we don’t know where they are at with their Japanese. I’m assuming that they could at least make sentences in Japanese.

Pasha Navis no worries, I can understand your English :) But Juri was actually really bad at Korean until she actually started to learn it 4 months ago. It’s true that she’s a long time Kpop fan, but she only knew some basic words and phrases here and there. If you watched her showroom live in January, her Korean was really bad. And I mean really bad. So I wouldn’t say that Juri knew 40%. Miho was the one who actually knew how to speak some Korean. But while it may be frustrating, Juri has the advantage of having to speak Korean all the time since she’s the only Japanese member in RCPC and her members knows zero Japanese. IZONE had members who knew Japanese and so they didn’t have to speak Korean 100% of the time like Juri does. But IZONE’s Jline has started to pick up Korean faster these days since they’ve decided to speak Korean 100% even amongst themselves in private. You can see how quickly they improved even more ever since they decided to do that. But Sakura and Nako were pretty big into Kpop even before PD48. Sakura was known to post a lot about Red Velvet in her private IG page. Sakura also travelled back and forth to Korea since she was a child and she mentioned this on her radio show before. There’s actually a picture of her when she was a kid in a Korean restaurant. Even her first IG post was in Korea. But I think she hid the fact that she was into Korean culture because it wouldn’t look good to her image as a Japanese idol.

And so, Defconn and Hyungdon asked Juri what should Woohyun fix and to not look at him as a sunbae and she said that he’s an old time idol. I also found out in this episode how long Juri had been studying korean.
